George Junus Aditjondro (Pekalongan, Jawa Tengah, 27 Mei 1946—Palu, Sulawesi Tengah, 10 Desember 2016) adalah seorang aktivis, wartawan, pecinta lingkungan, peneliti, sekaligus seorang akademisi. Setelah menamatkan studi doktoral dari Universitas Cornell di Amerika Serikat, pada 1993 George Aditjondro pulang ke Indonesia dan memilih menjadi pengajar di Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW) Salatiga. Ia banyak menghasilkan makalah, menulis artikel di koran, dan menjadi narasumber dalam berbagai diskusi dengan berbagai topik. Seluruh persoalan yang disuarakan George, terutama terkait kebijakan represif Soeharto di Timor Timur, membuat para mahasiswa asal Timor Timur yang ada di berbagai kota di Indonesia menjulukinya sebagai “railakan” yang dalam bahasa Tetun artinya adalah “petir”. Namanya pun dikenal luas setelah ia terang-terangan menyampaikan kritik terhadap pemerintahan Soeharto mengenai kasus korupsi dan Timor Timur. Atas tindakannya tersebut, George harus meninggalkan Indonesia ke Australia dari tahun 1995 hingga 2002. Pada Maret 1998 ia mengalami pencekalan oleh rezim Soeharto. Buku ini adalah kumpulan tulisan dari kerabat-kerabat yang mengenal sosok George Junus Aditjondro. Melalui beragam tulisan mereka, kita bisa melihat lebih dekat bagaimana pergulatan hidup, aktivisme, hingga perlawanan George Junus Aditjondro dalam menegakkan hak asasi manusia, terutama di Timor Timur dan Papua.
