Malaysia kini sedang berusaha mencapai sasaran sebagai sebuah negara maju. Untuk itu, pembangunan masyarakat dan ekonomi merupakan antara agenda utama. Galakan penceburan warga negara ke dalam bidang keusahawanan merupakan perkara yang diberi perhatian serius. Pelbagai usaha sama ada dalam bentuk bantuan kewangan mahupun program serta latihan dilaksanakan untuk merealisasikan hasrat negara maju. Pelan Tindakan Keusahawanan 2016- 2020 diteruskan malah Dasar Keusahawanan Nasional 2030 telah dilancarkan. Kesemua ini dilakukan kerana ingin merealisasikan hasrat menjadikan Malaysia sebuah negara maju. Sumbangan sektor perusahaan enterprise, kecil dan sederhana (EKS) terhadap ekonomi negara amat menyerlah. Setiap tahun sektor ini menyumbang kepada Keluaran Dalam Negara Kasar (KDNK) dengan kadar yang tinggi. Selain itu, sektor ini juga membantu meminimumkan masalah pengangguran negara dengan membuka peluang pekerjaan. Ini kerana sektor EKS adalah industri berintensifkan buruh dan bukan berintensifkan modal. Begitu juga dengan tabungan ekonomi negara, kerana kebanyakan modal perniagaan EKS adalah dari simpanan pemilik perniagaan. Sehubungan itu, perusahaan EKS dapat membantu penciptaan pelbagai jenis khidmat, antaranya seperti khidmat latihan dan pendidikan bagi meningkatkan kemahiran, pengetahuan dalam bidang perniagaan dan penggunaan sumber bahan mentah negara. Oleh itu, buku ini boleh dijadikan rujukan kepada pelajar dalam bidang berkaitan pentadbiran perniagaan dan keusahawanan. Ia juga penting bagi melengkapkan warga negara sama ada yang tamat sekolah menengah mahupun graduan kolej, institut kemahiran, politeknik mahupun universiti dengan ilmu pengetahuan dan kemahiran yang diperlukan untuk menjadi seorang usahawan. Graduan yang mempelajari bidang pentadbiran perniagaan dan keusahawanan lebih berkeyakinan dan memiliki minat yang tinggi untuk menceburi perusahaan EKS setelah diberi pendedahan dari aspek pengetahuan dan kemahiran keusahawanan. Penekanan diberi kepada sektor EKS kerana ia mudah didaftarkan dan tidak memerlukan modal yang besar. Methodology is the ?eld which is indisputably complex. In the academic world, it is often said to be important, yet in everyday academic practice, it is not always treated accordingly. In teaching, methodology is often a mandatory course. Usually, it consists of learning how to adopt several common approaches when doing research, and how to conceive a research design (often leading to a survey). This usually leads to collecting data on a modest scale and – when the opportunity arises – analysing the data with the help of some statistics. Ask the students of their opinion at the end of such a course and they tend to heave a deep sigh of relief and say, “I have got through it. ” Then their real courses start again, in which methodology often does not play a role at all. We are of the opinion that writing-off methodology in this way is a real pity. It ignores the valuable role that methodology should play in academic teaching as a whole. Here, methodology is presented as a form of thinking and acting that, while obviously entailing research work, can also include the design and change of organisations. This broad approach has been purposefully chosen, as it is almost obvious from research and graduation projects that the students do not really have a clue what methodology involves and, therefore, wasting their time by producing work that has a little quality.

During the last twenty years multivariate statistical methods have become increasingly popular among scientists in various fields. The theory had already made great progress in previous decades and routine applications of multivariate methods followed with the advent of fast computers. Nowadays statistical software packages perform in seconds what used to take weeks of tedious calculations. Although this is certainly a welcome development, we find, on the other hand, that many users of statistical packages are not too sure of what they are doing, and this is especially true for multivariate statistical methods. Many researchers have heard about such techniques and feel intuitively that multivariate methods could be useful for their own work, but they haven't mastered the usual mathematical prerequisites. This book tries to fill the gap by explaining - in words and graphs - some basic concepts and selected methods of multivariate statistical analysis. Why another book? Are the existing books on applied multivariate statistics all obsolete? No, some of them are up to date and, indeed, quite good.
