Le lecteur, une fois la première page tournée, se posera la question de la frontière entre l’envisageable et l’impensable jusqu’au point final, et sûrement bien après. Biographie Christel LACROIX chercheuse curieuse ascendant rêveuse a d’abord exploré l’univers des sciences. Son doctorat de recherche pharmaceutique en poche, et quelques coups d’œil dans le microscope plus tard, elle se rend compte que l’envie d’écrire a germé dans son conscient. Chacun de ses romans est conçu de façon à susciter la réflexion du lecteur. Son jeu favori : mêler subtilement les mondes ou les époques afin que le réel n’apparaisse jamais tel qu’on peut le concevoir. Je l’ai donc commencé par une certaine appréhension. Allais-je rentrer dans l’histoire ? Finalement, j’ai lu jusqu’au bout et je n’ai pas manqué un seul mot. Je ne sais pas si j’aimerais vivre dans ce monde déshumanisé qui mélange robot et humain. Pourtant, il s’agit d’une histoire d’amour entre un être et une machine, un être qui se veut en partie robot et une machine qui aspire à disposer d’une part humaine. Un amour impossible, improbable, inattendu, entre Garry, un journaliste médical, qui tombera amoureux éperdu de PL0319 qui deviendra Perla, une humanoïde créée dans un hôpital. L’auteure nous propose ce challenge, une histoire d’humanité dans un monde déshumanisé. Elle semble à l’aise dans ce mélange de l’intelligence artificielle et des manipulations génétiques. Elle se trouve à la limite de l’éthique habituellement admise. Un professeur, un peu fou et terroriste, arrivera-t-il à implanter des systèmes pour humaniser le robot en s’inspirant du Codex Vinci Atlanticus de Léonard de Vinci, au grand dam de son confrère créateur de cet humanoïde ? Garry et Perla s’aimeront-ils ? Engendreront-ils ? Ce livre pose des questions sur la frontière entre l’envisageable et l’impensable. On sort différent de cette lecture. La lecture se fait facilement et j’y ai pris un certain plaisir. Je le recommande pour les amateurs du futurisme, de l’intelligence artificielle et des manipulations génétiques, mais aussi à ceux qui aiment les histoires d’amour particulières."
