Informationsflüsse sind die Lebensadern solcher Gesellschaften; sie sorgen dafür, daß von Spezialisten gewonnene Erkenntnisse an andere Individuen weitergegeben und nutzbar gemacht werden können. Informationsflüsse sind aber nicht ohne weiteres Güterströmen gleichzusetzen; ihr Inhalt wird auf seinem Weg verändert. Es stellt sich daher die Frage, wie Informationsflüsse zu gestalten sind, so daß sie einer Gesellschaft zum Vorteil gereichen. Die vorliegende Arbeit leistet einen Grundlagenbeitrag zur aufkommenden (ordnungs-)ökonomischen Diskussion um die Wissensteilung. Sie demonstriert die Leistungsfähigkeit des ökonomischen Instrumentariums in diesem Bereich und zeigt, daß die Ökonomik neben Disziplinen wie der Informationsethik oder den Rechtswissenschaften in der Lage ist, gesellschaftlich relevante Gestaltungsvorschläge für die Informations- und Wissensgesellschaft zu erarbeiten.

This book examines volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity (VUCA) and addresses the need for broader knowledge and application of new concepts and frameworks to deal with unpredictable and rapid changing situations. The premises of VUCA can shape all aspects of an organization. To cover all areas, the book is divided into six sections. Section 1 acts as an introduction to VUCA and complexity.
