É sobre isso que narram os textos presentes nesta obra: experiências de onze mulheres, na época da escrita, estudantes de pedagogia, hoje, profissionais da educação nas mais distintas áreas. Assim, compreendemos que a presente obra se constitui enquanto marco na história do Departamento de Educação – Campus VII, da UNEB. Fazer pesquisa em educação no Brasil e, mais especificamente no Território Semiárido, considerando o descaso político historicamente atribuído aos sujeitos que habitam e cotidianamente ressignificam esse espaço, nunca foi uma tarefa fácil, não só pela complexidade inerente aos processos específicos requeridos pela pesquisa, mas principalmente pelos desafios que dizem respeito ao financiamento e as condições favoráveis ao desenvolvimento desse campo de pesquisa. Entendemos a pesquisa enquanto trajetória de investigação, uma procura meticulosa pelo conhecimento, o que exige do/a pesquisador/a um planejamento e compromisso ético em sua trajetória de pesquisa. Especificamente na área de educação, a pesquisa se mostra importante por favorecer diferentes pontos de vista acerca dos processos pedagógicos, que podem comprometer o processo de ensino-aprendizagem, que vão desde as questões relacionadas ao processo de ensino, aprendizagem, a contextualização do conhecimento, dentre tantos outros aspectos, nos levando a reconhecer que problematizar as práticas e os processos educativos, por meio da pesquisa não é tão simples e deve ser conduzida com responsabilidade.
