A lo largo de toda la humanidad, los lugares de culto y veneración de los dioses y fuerzas sobrenaturales, se han construido de piedra y en lugares especialmente sensibles que conectan los más duro y lo más etéreo de la realidad.Existe un dato que es incontestable en la actualidad: debajo de infinidad de templos, ermitas, monasterios y catedrales existen otros tantos recintos paganos, dedicados también a la divinidad o a otros poderes sobrenaturales. La explicación a esta tendencia del ser humano a construir sus edificaciones sagradas sobre otras no depende sólo de un impulso a mostrar la hegemonía de la religión vencedora sobre la vencida, también habría que considerar que esas edificaciones se encuentran sobre lugares que tienen algo especial, una energía sutil que el hombre percibe casi inconscientemente y que le hace determinar que se encuentra sobre un emplazamiento peculiar. Piedras sagradas recorre estos monumentos dedicados a las distintas divinidades y muestra relación de algunos de ellos con las fuerzas telúricas, con energía tectónica amplificada, que convirtió los lugares en donde se levantan estos monumentos en lugares especiales. Pero no acabará ahí el análisis de Juan Ignacio Cuesta ya que mostrará también el efecto contrario, cómo la piedra que compones algunos de estos lugares, ha sido cargada con la energía de los acontecimientos que allí ocurrieron. Así, en Stonhenge, en el Taj-Majal, en Machu Picchu, en Petra o en la Alhambra, por citar sólo algunos de los monumentos que trata, la piedra nos trasmitiría la historia de las sensaciones de los hechos más importantes que allí acontecieron. Clasifica el autor estos monumentos en función de sus características físicas, espirituales, su especial localización, su uso en la antigüedad y su relación con las redes energéticas de las que antes hablamos.
