Las pinturas prehistóricas son uno de los grandes misterios de la humanidad, las preguntas acerca de su significado nunca se han interrumpido desde que fueron descubiertas. En esta obra se demuestra a través de un estudio riguroso de semiología, toponimia, orografía y arqueología, que se distribuyen de acuerdo a acontecimientos históricos, y que además se pueden leer, pues están escritas con un sistema primitivo de escritura: los ideogramas. En este libro explicaremos los fundamentos gramaticales de ese tipo de escritura con el cual están codificadas y por lo tanto aprenderemos a leer las cuevas prehistóricas. Aunque es necesario entender que hay varios niveles de evolución y no todas las épocas son iguales. Avanzando de lo fácil a lo difícil, y centrándonos en los elementos comunes a través de los milenios, es posible demostrar la codificación de sus ideogramas más allá de ninguna duda. El objetivo declarado es llegar incluso a leer por nosotros mismos los murales abarrotados de figuras. No existe una mejor evidencia que esa de ser nosotros mismos capaces de entenderlo, y nos enfrentaremos a Altamira, el Castillo, Lascaux, Chauvet, así como otras cuevas prehistóricas emblemáticas. Aunque cabe decir que, una vez que leemos el código, cualquier pequeño conjunto de rayas se torna importante, ya que lo crucial son los contenidos, el mensaje. En efecto, los murales nos hablan de sus ideas políticas, religiosas y científicas, son un registro increíble de nuestra evolución conceptual, y una auténtica revolución en nuestros conocimientos actuales.
