Made To Stick written by Chip Heath and has been published by Random House this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-01-02 with Business & Economics categories.

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The instant classic about why some ideas thrive, why others die, and how to make your ideas stick. “Anyone interested in influencing others—to buy, to vote, to learn, to diet, to give to charity or to start a revolution—can learn from this book.”—The Washington Post Mark Twain once observed, “A lie can get halfway around the world before the truth can even get its boots on.” His observation rings true: Urban legends, conspiracy theories, and bogus news stories circulate effortlessly. Meanwhile, people with important ideas—entrepreneurs, teachers, politicians, and journalists—struggle to make them “stick.” In Made to Stick, Chip and Dan Heath reveal the anatomy of ideas that stick and explain ways to make ideas stickier, such as applying the human scale principle, using the Velcro Theory of Memory, and creating curiosity gaps. Along the way, we discover that sticky messages of all kinds—from the infamous “kidney theft ring” hoax to a coach’s lessons on sportsmanship to a vision for a new product at Sony—draw their power from the same six traits. Made to Stick will transform the way you communicate. It’s a fast-paced tour of success stories (and failures): the Nobel Prize-winning scientist who drank a glass of bacteria to prove a point about stomach ulcers; the charities who make use of the Mother Teresa Effect; the elementary-school teacher whose simulation actually prevented racial prejudice. Provocative, eye-opening, and often surprisingly funny, Made to Stick shows us the vital principles of winning ideas—and tells us how we can apply these rules to making our own messages stick.

Reflecting today's emphasis on evidence-based practice and appropriate delivery of scarce healthcare resources, this text presents new best practices and QSEN standards throughout, promoting more effective assessment, diagnosis, planning, and outcome evaluation. The text's multidisciplinary approaches help nurses "add life to years," not just extend life. Its coverage of acute and chronic diseases includes nursing implications, atypical presentation, functional implications, pharmacology, evaluation, etiology, risk factors, and complications; the text also includes a full chapter on multisystem diseases. This book supports safe, effective, and appropriate practice in the home, hospitals, long-term care, and hospice settings.

The Cnt In The Spanish Revolution written by José Peirats and has been published by ChristieBooks.com this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2001 with Labor unions categories.

The most detailed history to date of the million-strong revolutionary trade union, the CNT, and of its grassroots supporters who, in July 1936, embarked upon the most far-reaching of all 20th century revolutionary experiments. It is the history of the giddy years of political change and hope in 1930s Spain, when the so-called 'Generation of 36, ' Peirats's own generation, rose up against the oppressive structures of Spanish society. It is also a history of a revolution that failed, crushed in the jaws of its enemies on both the democratic-left and the reactionary right. Containing a bounty of original documents produced by the trade unions, revolutionary assemblies and rural and industrial collectives of the 1930s, many of which are unavailable elsewhere, and all translated into English for the first time, Peirats explores the new social, economic and cultural arrangements that were introduced in the streets, fields and factories of republican Spain. A staggering work - fully indexed and footnoted, with 20 pages of photographs. Superlatives like mandatory and monumental really fail to do this justice. A vital book about a crucial era in history.
