The Chukyo region of Japan lies between Tokyo and Osaka and is the central industrial region of the country. Various pressures make upgrading of the Chukyo economic framework a national and local prerequisite. This study outlines the in-place or planned initiatives to help Chukyo realize its goal of becoming Japan's industrial and applied technology capital. The study first describes the Chukyo region and its economic development, and outlines the economic challenges faced by the region. It then describes the region's economic planning framework, including government programs and policies affecting its economy. Other sections of the study document local plans and initiatives to upgrade technology and infrastructure, target industries for further development, and diversify the economy. The study ends by assessing the implications for Chukyo of current economic changes in Japan, the likelihood of success of Chukyo's plans, and the lessons applicable to other Pacific industrial regions.

National Strategic Planning And Practice written by Liaquat Hossain and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-11-22 with Business & Economics categories.

This title was first published in 2001. This text explores the relationship between telecommunications strategic planning process (TSPP), the organization and the environment for developing an understanding of the idea of a national TSPP (NTSPP) in Thailand. The overall aim is to explore an understanding of an NTSPP by providing a detailed study of the strategic planning and practices of the Thai telecom regulators during the period from 1954 to 1996. It applies the strategic planning process principles to further the understanding of NTSPP in Thailand. By using the SPP framework, the study develops a theoretical TSPP framework for analyzing the underlying TSPP strategies within the national telecom regulators in Thailand. It also seeks to illustrate the limitations of the traditional strategic planning theory when applied to NTSPP. From a theoretical perspective, this book illustrates that a lack of formalization and consensus in Thailand's NTSPP is the fundamental backlog for the successful operation of its industry.
