"Reflections in Poetry" Reflections in Poetry was first thought about when I was working down in the Gulf of Mexico. Twelve hours a day five days a week I use to write during my lunch break or back at the motel. I put together some material in a legal pad and left everything in the Motel under the mattress. When I relocated back to Sumter, SC it was very hard getting started, with so many things on my mind. I asked God to give me the peace of mind that I needed to put my thoughts on paper. I stayed up one night until four in the morning writing. I needed that to get a lot of stuff off my chest and off my mind. I really enjoyed putting Reflections in Poetry together, it reflects on those that have passed on good people whose memories I'll always treasure and will never forget. Friends that I met over the years our paths crossed and we connected platonically. They inspired me in their own unique way to write about them in poetry. Reflections in Poetry are collections of treasured thoughts from my heart to yours. Enjoy Glenndell Chatmon

Reflections into Someone's Life is a collection of old and new poems, from one woman's travels through life to adulthood, facing head-on the things she'd rather ignore. Most of her works were destroyed in a flood and only retrieved through memory. Writing is what helped her get through many trials and tribulations of addiction, and inadequacy in her lifetime. It was one of the things that assisted in guiding her on when most things just didn't seem worth holding onto. Struggling in her own mind to be accepted, writing helped her to learn about herself, as well as others. For years it felt like a crutch, but when she could help others with her writing, it became a blessing, then a passion and now a dream. The beauty of time and writing is, you eventually learn to come to terms with yourself, and see the things that really do matter. An enjoyable read, it touches on many aspects of life with family, friends and everyday outlooks.

155 Poems A reflection is a distorted rendition of that which casts the reflection. A reflection is a mirrored image that defies the physics of its counterpart. A reflection is a chance to appreciate something, in a different light. I have previously released books 1 & 2 for my “From the Mind & Imagination of J.B. Frost” series, but something wasn’t right. As I looked back on the content, and the timing, I realized I had to assemble a better assortment of my poetry that would better appeal to the poetry market. This E-Book edition of “Poetry Reflections” contains many of my poems from my first two books, and several new ones that were originally slated to be in book #3 of my earlier-mentioned series. In my study of poets through the ages, I’ve learned that most had written things that never made it to print, or put out for public inspection and/or approval. I had taken a more daring road in my first two poetry ventures, and included just about everything I’ve written over the last few years. I wanted a collection that best mirrors the more positive messages I’ve written. I wanted a better representative of who I am as a writer, and as a person. I believe poetry is therapy, and I believe we all can benefit from its sessions. I hope you enjoy my work.

All life is precious, no matter what the reasoning; it should never be easy to harm another life. There is a difference between wishing harm on someone and causing harm to them. In life we are all uniquely valuable and to be robbed of that uniqueness is unacceptable. We all live in this world and we need to be more amicable to our fellow man. This world is not an easy place; the hardest thing for us to do is live here. Love must start somewhere and that is with us. Robin wants to express thoughts of love to inspire others. This is the mission of Robin Hosking’s poetry. If we love, we live. If we stop loving or turn away from the love offered to us, we die. Mother Earth I love you and provide for you with all that I have I nourish you with the food from my ground I hydrate you with my water From all of my lovely plants and trees, you are able to breathe I love it when you come out to visit with me and admire my many scenes When you swim in my lakes and streams, I really enjoy your company, But you are mistreating me….

Wild Child, is a poem that reflects on my life as a young boy of 14 when I lived at my fathers place of business at Paddy’s Pond, about 15 miles west of St. John’s Newfoundland, I used to fly fish on Paddy’s Pond for speckled trout and take them home to our cabin for breakfast. My Mother, is a poem about “you guessed it” my Mother. The one person in my life who had a heart of gold. She had one hell of a life with my father who was alcoholic. Family, is a poem about my family with my first wife our daughter (Heather) and our son (Erik). It was written after I returned to Winnipeg from a trip to Vegas with my younger brother Bob. Heart of gold, is a poem about my son who when I said I love you he would always say it back to me. Ridiculous dreams, is a poem about my day dreams about being a rich and famous entertainer in the entertainment world. Something I’m glad to say never happened. Kindness, is a reflection on the golden rule, do unto others as you would have done unto you. Beothuk, is a poem showing the lack of love and respect that the European settlers had for the original people of the island of Newfoundland. Arrogance of humanity, is a poem reflecting on the arrogance of humanity in its relationship with God.

This new poet ponders the challenges and events of everyday life as she shares her own heartfelt feelings and experiences. They include a broad range of topics from finances (Money and Me, and self-worth Good Enough to nature Bees and wonderment Wonder and Fancy. Sometimes introspective, sometimes humorous, her reflections are about the daily comings and goings in our world. A financial planner by day, she uses her poetry to help motivate women to listen to the thoughts in their head, rewrite their stories and recognize their true worth. She believes that "self-discovery and love are on the path to real wealth." Not afraid to share her personal thoughts, Lynn's transparency is both refreshing and inspirational. Her poems encourage us to look within and discover all that we can be. As she directs us in the play of life, she invites us to make a difference in our world by doing our dance. This is in reference to the title poem. Her words open our eyes to new possibilities, convince us to believe in ourselves and impress upon us the importance of love - of self and others. She invites us to join her on a soul journey that will connect us with the amazing spirit that we are. This book is truly a reflection on life, love and soul. Here are her own words about Dance of the Leaf: Want to learn about what's inside? Find a nice chair, off to the side Sit down, relax and take your time Open my book and choose one rhyme Take in each word; go with the flow Don't try to rush, read it real slow Feelings may come; just let them be Then an ah-ha, now you can see Reflect you will, on things you've done Now look ahead at what's to come Give of your love within and out Live life fulfilled, without a doubt Verse may inspire, cause you to act Will touch your soul; that is a fact Open the heart of someone new I hope that someone new, is you!
