"Turkish policy changed radically after the November 3, 2002, when the ruling Justice and Development (AK Parti - PJD) won enough seats in parliament to form a government alone. Considered this as a political earthquake, the PJD was the first game that has managed to govern in majority in Turkey over the last decade. Before the AKP government, Turkey had been ruled by coalition executives. Turkish policy was far from stability and, consequently, had not produced a coherent approach to domestic issues nor external. In line with the new orientation of foreign affairs of Turkey after the Cold War, the PJD has designed the foreign policy of Turkey since 2002, both in form and style. As part of this, today we can speak of a new Turkish foreign policy with priorities, institutions and approaches to other parts of the world like Latin America, Africa, Asia and other regions. Therefore, it is truly global in orientation and creative in terms of outreach, since most often used elements like cultural diplomacy and soft power (soft power in Castilian).
