Reconfiguraciones políticas de la etnicidad en Colombia es una colección de libros que convocó a un representativo número de investigadores para analizar las transformaciones sociopolíticas de los grupos étnicos colombianos con posterioridad a la emisión de la Constitución de 1991. La reforma consagró algunos de sus derechos fundamentales, al tiempo que aclimató la política neoliberal que, al hacer descansar la economía en la extracción de recursos minero-energéticos, pone en riesgo la estabilidad territorial y los derechos fundamentales de las comunidades rurales, afrocolombianas e indígenas. Este segundo tomo concentra su atención en los pueblos indígenas del área andina, cuya diversidad sociocultural no solo ha dependido de su propia dinámica, sino de la intensa relación con la sociedad nacional que desde tiempos de la Colonia ha impuesto poderosas transformaciones de sus sociedades y culturas. Los autores resaltan las recientes iniciativas del Estado en la incorporación de sus comunidades a la sociedad estatalizada, y las tensiones y los retos que plantean las respuestas de los pueblos y organizaciones indígenas que buscan resguardar su autonomía social, política y cultural.
