Misleadership written by John Rayment and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-04-22 with Business & Economics categories.

The 'MisLeadership' of this book's title is a description of the phenomenon the authors have uncovered through their analysis of the validity, or otherwise, of current leadership styles and achievements, in the light of the challenges leaders face, and particularly of the urgent global issues with which business leaders are now confronted. John Rayment and Jonathan Smith examine existing approaches to leadership with a focus on their shortcomings, categorized according to the four main types of misLeadership the authors have identified - Missing, Misguided, Misinformed and Machiavellian leadership. Each of these forms of misleadership has a corollary in one of the four elements of the kind of holistic leadership that the authors advocate - the capacity for effective decision making, the adoption of a global perspective, the move to a new business paradigm to replace the current economic and social one, and commitment to a contemporary mission. From Rayment and Smith's passionately argued, but well reasoned perspective, leaders, the led and those responsible for leadership development will gain an insight into the prevalence and causes of misleadership and into ways in which it can be identified and overcome. A range of examples and case studies is provided to enable the concepts presented here to be related to practice. As well as illustrating instances of 'misleadership' these also demonstrate that the emphasis in relation to the decision making models currently available to leaders may not be the most important stages of the processes involved. The global perspective emphasized by the authors is not just about globality in the geographical sense. An important part of the way forward suggested here involves considering all aspects of humanity - the physical, mental and spiritual strength, stamina and fitness of individuals, groups and societies, in the context of a 'Global Fitness Framework'. All this is presented in a practical and approachable style that enables these authors to introduce a new approach to a key element of management thinking, in a way that will encourage and empower individuals to think on a different scale, challenge assumptions and exercise effective leadership.

In 1973 Marie and Rod Adams, brimming with idealism and keenly aware of the plight of disadvantaged aboriginal children, adopted Tim, a young Cree boy, two and one half years old. Tim began displaying severe behavioural problems almost immediately, problems that, despite their efforts to find help, only became worse over the years. He left home at the age of twelve and died on the streets when he was twenty-one. Devastated by their loss, the Adams began to search for answers as to why things had gone so horribly wrong. In Our Son, a Stranger Marie Adams describes five white couples whose adoptions of native children failed to meet their expectations. Using her own experiences as background, she casts a critical eye on the "Sixties Scoop" when governments actively encouraged the adoption of native children by non-native parents - an estimated 95 per cent of such adoptions failed - and discusses why the special issues raised by all trans-racial adoptions need to be carefully considered.

This book is about my experiences in Brazil. I am a teacher from the US. I met a wonderful lady from Brazil. After we met I realized she was my soul mate. After we got married, she was home sick for her native country, so I followed her to Brazil. After living here awhile, I decided it would be a good thing to write my memoirs. Since I have been here I learned and discovered many things about the people and culture that I want to share with others. Much of the culture and information stays in the country and many tourists and people that want to become citizens really do not know the true Brazil. This is the first book you will read about Brazil, that will depict the true experiences of the harsh life here. If you are looking to read a book about Brazil, that is full of roses then this is the wrong book for you. Everything you will read is true stories of realistic events that happen here and go unnoticed by the outside world. None of the information is exaggerated or sugar coated. I hope this book will give you a real insight of life here. At least when you read this book, you will not be as surprised as I was when I got here. I hope this book will give you valuable information about life here.

Suddenly, two people who were struggling to come to terms with childlessness are thrust into the opposite situation—they are completely responsible for a small toddler, whose mother's survival is in question. Finn's crash-landing in their tidy, urban lives throws into high-relief some troubling truths about Ana and James's deepest selves, both separately and as a couple.
