Spain written by E. Ramon Arango and has been published by Westview Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1996-05-31 with History categories.

Since the death of Franco in 1975, Spain has passed from repression through renewal to democracy, restored for the first time since 1936. Having survived the threat to its very existence in 1981, democratic Spain—now a member of the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization—seems as secure as any of its European neighbors. The accession to power in 1982 of the first socialist government in Spanish history marked the smooth transition from right to left that many, including Arango, believe was the crucial rite of passage to stable democracy.Spain: Democracy Regained is a greatly expanded and revised version of Spain: From Repression to Renewal. Aside from his presentation of historical and geographical background and of the Franco years, the author has rewritten the remainder of his study, utilizing a wide array of new information and interpretation. Arango explores the function of the military, reinterprets the role of the king in the transition and in the 1981 crisis, and provides a thorough analysis of political parties. He reexamines the state of the economy under the socialist government and reassesses Spain's most intractable problem—ETA violence—and its greatest strength—the exuberant Spanish culture that was given international exposure in 1992 at the World's Fair in Seville and at the Olympic Games in Barcelona. Woven throughout are Arango's fresh insights into Spanish society and politics during the socialist decade.

Imperium written by Francis Parker Yockey and has been published by The Palingenesis Project (Wermod and Wermod Publishing Group) this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-01-14 with Philosophy categories.

Written without notes in Ireland, and first published pseudonymously in 1948, Imperium is Francis Parker Yockey’s masterpiece. It is a critique of 19th-century rationalism and materialism, synthesising Oswald Spengler, Carl Schmitt, and Klaus Haushofer’s geopolitics. In particular, it rethinks the themes of Spengler’s The Decline of the West in an effort to account for the United States’ then recent involvement in World War II and for the task bequeathed to Europe’s political soldiers in the struggle to unite the Continent—heroically, rather than economically—in the realisation of the destiny implied in European High Culture. Yockey’s radical attack on liberal thought, especially that embodied by Americanism (distinct from America or Americans), condemned his work to obscurity, its appeal limited to the post-war fascist underground. Yet, Imperium transcents both the immediate post-war situation and its initial readership: it opened pathways to a deconstruction of liberalism, and introduced the concept of cultural vitalism— the organic conceptualisation of culture, with all that attends to it. These contributions are even more relevant now than in their day, and provide us with a deeper understanding of, as well as tools to deal with, the situation in the West in current century. It is with this in mind that the present, 900-page, fully-annotated edition is offered, complete with a major foreword by Dr Kerry Bolton, Julius Evola’s review as an afterword (in a fresh new translation), a comprehensive index, a chronology of Yockey's life, and an appendix, revealing, for the first time, much previously unknown information about the author's genealogical background.

Utopa Utopia written by Tomas Moro and has been published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-04-06 with categories.

Porfirio Diaz written by Paul Garner and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-06-17 with History categories.

The fall of Porfirio Diaz has traditionally been presented as a watershed between old and new: an old style repressive and conservative government, and the more democratic and representative system that flowered in the wake of the Mexican Revolution. Now this view is being challenged by a new generation of historians, who point out that Diaz originally rose to power in alliance with anti-conservative forces and was a modernising force as well as a dictator. Drawing together the threads of this revisionist reading of the Porfiriato, Garner reassesses a political career that spanned more than forty years, and examines the claims that post-revolutionary Mexico was not the break with the past that the revolutionary inheritors claimed.

In few places, contends Professor Arango, do illusions obscure reality as they do in Spain. The Spaniard as well as the foreigner has believed and sustained the myths; the scholar as well as the poet. For the Spaniard, myth became the substitute for action in a world in which Spain was increasingly a nonparticipant. It replaced the reality of Spain
