Gegenstand dieses Studienbuches ist das "politische System" der Bun desrepublik, d.h. diejenigen Strukturen und Prozesse, durch welche ge samtgeselllschaftlich verbindliche Entscheidungen vorbereitet, getroffen und durchgesetzt werden. Es bildet einen besonderen Handlungszusam menhang (mit Rollen als Wiihler, Organisationsmitglied, Demonstrant, Parlamentarier u.a.m.), mehr umfassend als nur den "Staat", weniger andererseits als "Gesellschaft". Bei einer solchen Abgrenzung der Thematik bleiben jedoch Schwie rigkeiten. Selbst wenn man nicht einer polit6konomischen Sicht folgt, wonach Politik soweit durch die sozio-6konomischen Verhiiltnisse deter miniert oder so eng mit ihnen verbunden ist, daB sich jede gesonderte Be trachtung eines politischen Systems verbietet, sind ja Wechselwirkungen zwischen politischem ProzeB und des sen gesellschaftlichem Kontext un bestreitbar. Die vorliegende Darstellung sucht dem nicht nur dadurch Rechnung zu tragen, daB sie empirische Befunde zu sozialspezifisch un terschiedlichem politischen Verhalten referiert, sondem auch yom politi schen System zu verarbeitende gesellschaftliche Probleme, deren Umfor mung in politische Handlungsorientierungen (Parteiprogramme) und die Gegenstandsfelder politischer Entscheidung einbezieht (vgl.
