È la storia di un legame inscindibile quella che viene raccontata e fatta vivere in queste sale in cui la distruzione momentanea diventa elemento di conservazione perenne, la forza distruttrice dell'eruzione un abbraccio con la madre Terra, la perdita di ogni cosa diviene un tesoro inestimabile per l'umanità. Questo spiega e meglio fa comprendere anche il difficile lavoro degli archeologi e delle diverse fasi storiche delle campagne di scavo: la necessità di un continuo confronto con le altre discipline scientifiche proprio a cominciare dalla vulcanologia e dalle altre scienze della terra, ma anche degli indispensabili contributi della biologia e della botanica, della medicina, dell'alimentazione, della chimica e della fisica solo per citarne alcune. Comprendere Pompei è comprendere una civiltà e c'è bisogno davvero del contributo scientifico e culturale di quasi tutte le discipline umane per farlo. Abbiamo il dovere di farlo e di continuare a farlo mettendo insieme scienza, conoscenza ed esperienza. Abbiamo il dover di far conoscere ed amare Pompei ai cittadini del Mondo e abbiamo il dovere di formare le nuove generazioni riguardo i rischi di questa splendida Terra.
