Follow one man's enduring faith and internal stamina as he battles the emotional depressions that follow great losses . He faces discouragement and temptations to abandon standards by which he had fashioned his life. Having to deal with his wife's decision to end their marriage, Psychologist Steve Harris also has to deal either the threat of losing his clinical practice due to licensing technicalities. To escape the resulting drag on his mood, he decides to find temporary refuge on his uncle's farm. During his out-of-state trip to the farm, he is plunged into a series of events that threaten to destroy his hope of finding the peace and tranquility he was seeking. On his way through a supposedly peaceful town, a sheriff deputy issues him a traffic citation, and that deputy would later become one of his serious obstacles. Next, he finds his uncle involved in a conflict much broader than his personal issues--a conflict between protecting an important environment and developing a promising oil field. Employees of an oil development company resort to using some unscrupulous means to obtain a portion of the farm. These pose a significant danger to Uncle Orville and to Steve. Soon two women emerge to complicate Steve's life further--a young nurse and a paralegal, who are equally significant in the life and welfare of the Harris family. Being drawn to both, Steve's determination to avoid becoming emotionally involved with any woman gets tested. Entanglements and dilemmas grow due to the challenges of a controlling and jealous deputy, a legal battle with the oil company, and an automobile homicide. What doors will open and which ones will close? Aunt Mildred's advice has yet to be proven: When adversities strike, and your way is blocked, the Lord will guide you to a portal that may set you on a better course than you had before." Where is such a portal? Will Steve be charged with murder? Must his professional license b withheld permanently? How may Steve gain a love to replace the one he thought was his?

The Intranet Portal Guide written by David Viney and has been published by Mercury Web Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005-07 with categories.

An intranet portal project may well be the first and last project in your organisation that truly touches everyone, from the office of your CEO to the newest recruit. It may well be the most significant investment that you ever make in your people, their processes and their systems and has the power and potential to transform your organisation. However, it can be a tough project to deliver, bringing great exposure to its participants. All your customers will be only a small march away down the corridor and will all know where you live! Considering the $1.5 billion market for intranet portal technology worldwide, there are surprisingly few books on the topic (and those typically either very technical or very theoretical). The Intranet Portal Guide is a deliberately practical handbook for the stressed middle manager, seeking to make things happen in their organisation. The book is divided into three sections (before, during and after) and 31 chapters, addressing everything from the key issue of how to make the business case through to ongoing performance enhancement and benefit realisation. It is packed full of tools, templates, plans and processes for successful delivery - based on real life experience of implementation at two major UK companies.

What if what you know about God just ain't so? Portals can be rather inconspicuous and elusive, but when we find one of these obscure openings, we discover that it can be a divine door that ushers us out of darkness and despair into a whole new dimension of freedom. Unfortunately, because of negative encounters we may have had with churchy people or the guilt and condemnation we may have suffered under religious teaching, we end up being driven away, and rightly so, from any further involvement with religion. A portal (for the purpose of this book) symbolizes a gateway of knowledge and understanding into God’s grace and truth intended to bring to light the gospel of Jesus Christ to lead us out from behind the iron bars of false beliefs that may be enslaving us. This book was written to display God’s prismatic promises and the biblical wisdom God has provided for us as answers and antidotes to the various problems we may encounter in life.

William Wenton is a code-breaking genius, but now he faces a new threat—one that’s lurking inside him—in the second book in the William Wenton series that School Library Journal calls “part Alex Rider, part Da Vinci Code for kids, and part Artemis Fowl.” After William starts to suffer from mysterious fits that leave him unable to control his body—let alone crack codes—he worries that the metal inside him is acting up. There’s only one place he can go for answers: the Institute for Post-Human Research. But nothing at the Institute is the same. His room is more like a cell, and outside the window, huge searchlights sweep the skies and robot vehicles roam the grounds. William’s old teachers won’t tell him what’s going on although it’s obvious that everyone is frightened of something—or someone. When his friend Iscia finally arrives, William thinks he may have found an ally, but she’s hiding things as well. As more secrets are revealed, William realizes that no one has been telling him the truth and that he may not be able to trust anyone. He’s going to have to rely on his wits and his abilities to solve the mystery of what is behind the strange events at the Institute and what it all means for him.
