The "Lexicon Grammaticorum" is a comprehensive reference book that provides information on the lives and work of all scholars and thinkers throughout the world who have concerned themselves down the ages with the study and description of language. The "Lexicon" contains articles on more than 1,500 representatives of the world's linguistic traditions, written by 422 authors from 27 countries. Generally, an article consists of a biography, an abstract of the linguist's achievements, including his or her influence, and a two-part bibliography, listing first his or her writings, then those about him or her. Whenever possible, the references are complete; where the works are two numerous for them all to be listed, as is often the case with more recent linguists, only the main titles appear, with references to already existing bibliographies. The aim of the "Lexicon" is twofold: namely to provide access to the history of linguistics through its most important representatives and to combine the world's diverse linguistic traditions in one book, thus showing what is individual and is universal in human thought about language.

A educação a distância (EaD) já é uma realidade no Brasil e sua utilização vem aumentando significativamente nos últimos anos, principalmente quando da pandemia do Covid 19. Segundo o INEP, Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais Anísio Teixeira, no período de 2011 a 2021, o quantitativo de pessoas que ingressaram em cursos superiores, na modalidade EaD cresceu cerca de 41,4%. Esta modalidade vem sendo uma opção perfeita para quem precisa de flexibilidade de tempo e espaço para estudar, embora ainda tenha grandes desafios a vencer, principalmente quanto e à necessidade do uso da internet e ao uso da tecnologia, o que, até então, tem causado certa estranheza a docentes e discentes pouco afeitos a essas “modernidades” e às classes virtuais. O MEC, ministério da Educação, tem buscado ampliar o acesso e a qualidade da EaD no Brasil, incentivando a criação de polos de EaD nas IES do País que, assim podem oferecer mais cursos superiores de graduação e pós-graduação aos interessados, Assim, a UAB, Universidade Aberta do Brasil, em parceria com a UEPA, Universidade do Estado do Pará, tem buscado aplicar a modalidade EaD aos alunos que moram nos municípios paraenses distantes da capital, cuidando para que cada discente possa chegar à reta final no curso superior escolhido, bem como os de Letras que, nesta obra, trazem seus trabalhos como frutos de seus esforços educacionais.
