Fact of Life: If you want to succeed in a big way, you need a proven system that actually works. Here it is ... get ready for an enlightening and entertaining romp through music history guaranteed to inspire. "The indispensables in pianistic success - are they not very much the same in all successes?" Josef Hofmann Yes, indeed! - and the reverse sentiment holds as well. The indispensables in any success are very much like mastering the art of playing the piano. The 19th century was a Golden Age of piano music when the likes of Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt set a standard yet to be exceeded. Enclosed, please find an amazing collection of wisdom gleaned from hundreds of old books, articles, letters and diaries in which history's most successful pianists and composers reveal how they did it. Here are their intimate thoughts on purpose, motivation, discipline, perseverance, even health and social skills - not to mention technique. Caution: a number of sacred cows from today's self-help scene will be ground into hamburger meat by a bunch of long-haired musicians. Better fasten your seat belt as the 'awakening' may occasionally be a bit rude. "When necessary - speak; and in a way that people will remember ... Whoever is most impertinent has the best chance." Mozart The era saw great advances in psychology and education, so relevant thinking by Freud, Jung, Reich, Montessori, Suzuki and Dalcroze is duly examined and integrated by the author. Also included is a lucid explanation of the Alexander Technique and its critical importance to optimal mind/body performance. This book is brimming with powerful information to fuel your dreams. Whether you're in the performing arts, business, management, education, or just looking to raise the bar in your personal life - this book is for you. It will rev up your engine and cause you to shift not only gears but thought paradigms. It's 19th century wisdom for a transcendent 21st.

In The Positive Pianist: How Flow Can Bring Passion to Practice and Performance, author Thomas J. Parente applies the concept of flow to the practice of piano playing, demonstrating how student musicians can experience enjoyment and confidence from succeeding at something that challenges them to an engaging level. By using Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi's theory of flow to musical performance, Parente shows that linking productivity and enjoyment in piano playing has a positive impact on students, motivating them to practice more in order to experience flow again; this creates optimal learning conditions for piano practicing. As the chapters progress, Parente shows students how to evaluate their own progress and offers teachers the tools to impart on their students an optimal practice method: one informed by flow. Parente argues for an objective, goal-oriented backdrop that will lead piano students to achieve greater confidence, accuracy, and musicality. The Positive Pianist draws on the author's forty years of teaching experience and research to show piano students and their teachers how to develop a productive, focused mental state when practicing the piano.

Playing the piano is often mentioned as a favourite hobby of many people and it is also mine. I have been playing the piano for eleven years now and I am still fascinated by this wonderful instrument. In this Matura paper I wanted to find out what positive influences playing the piano has. Therefore, I focused on the topics of music as a learning assistance, music for the dealing with emotions, the piano as an aid against stage fright and the piano's influence on the senses. It became evident while writing this paper that playing the piano is a very complex action, which needs a lot of concentration and motoric skills. For this reason it is not surprising that playing the piano helps at school to learn better and has a positive effect on the ability to recall what is learnt. Moreover, playing the piano can help to control emotions like stage fright better and trains the senses of touch, sight and hearing. Curious whether this theory holds true for me as well, I conducted a self-experiment where I focused on my sense of hearing and my concentration. In addition, I gave a little performance to observe how I behave under stage fright. The results underline how important accurate listening is, show that music can help for studying and prove that stage fright can be kept under control with the correct preparations. Playing the piano is therefore a highly educational hobby and definitely worth trying out.

Peace And Serenity written by Jerald Simon and has been published by Music Motivation this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-09-29 with Music categories.

"Peace and Serenity" - a new instrumental relaxation album and piano book by composer Jerald Simon that was specifically composed to reduce stress and anxiety while calming and comforting listeners. This new soothing instrumental music helps bring feelings of peace and positivity. Simon composed the music at 60 beats per minute because certain "findings indicate that music around 60 beats per minute can cause the brain to synchronize with the beat causing alpha brainwaves (frequencies from 8 - 14 hertz or cycles per second). This alpha brainwave is what is present when we are relaxed and conscious..." according to an article titled, "Releasing Stress Through the Power of Music." - https://www.unr.edu/counseling/virtual-relaxation-room/releasing-stress-through-the-power-of-music When listening to or playing "Peace and Serenity," listeners begin to feel relaxed because since the heart follows the rhythm of the slower beat, it can naturally return to a calm resting heart rate of 60 beats per minute. The slower beat of the music naturally calms those who have feelings of anxiety and stress. Listeners hear piano, guitar, and orchestral melodies and harmonies entwined with calming nature sounds - crickets, trickling streams, gentle ocean waves, a soothing wind, and the chirping of birds - all recorded by Simon, and are added to the calming music. These relaxing nature sounds help to bring a sense of well-being that only nature can provide. Here is what Simon has said about this new album, "The purpose of this new album is to promote peace and positivity in an increasingly turbulent world. I believe we need to be sharing more peace and positivity with others each day - through music, poetry, and positive motivational messages. I think we all can try to focus on being more positive and optimistic and less negative and pessimistic and music contributes to our overall sense of well-being. We can all try to see the good in others, instead of finding the bad around us. We can all strive to be a positive influence in the lives of others and share light, love, and good music each day."
