Der Bochumer Sonderforschungsbereich 187 beschäftigt sich mit der Entwicklung und Bewertung von CIM-Systemen auf der Basis teilauto nomer flexibler Fertigungsstrukturen. Flexible Arbeitssysteme oder Ferti gungsinseln setzen eine datentechnische Unterstützung bei den anfallen den dezentralen Planungs- und Steuerungsaufgaben voraus. Die wirt schaftlichen und sozialen Vorteile dezentraler Arbeitsstrukturen werden jedoch entscheidend von einer Software mitgeprägt, die die Zusam menarbeit der Gruppenmitglieder in adäquater Weise unterstützt. Eine zentrale Frage ist es also, welche besonderen Anforderungen sich aus dem organisatorischen Konzept der Gruppenarbeit an eine ergonomische Softwaregestaltung ergeben. Aus diesem Grund hat der Sonderforschungsbereich 187 einen zweitä gigen Workshop zum Thema "Benutzungsoberflächen in der teilautono men Gruppenarbeit" durchgeführt, von dem ausgewählte Beiträge in die sem Band dokumentiert sind. Es wurde darauf Wert gelegt, sowohl Wis senschaftler unterschiedlicher Disziplinen als auch Vertreter aus der Pra xis zusammenzuführen, um eine breite, interdisziplinäre Sicht auf den Problemkreis zu gewinnen. Im Rahmen eines ganzheitlichen Gestaltungsansatzes, der den Benut zer in seinem Aufgaben- und Organisationskontext betrachtet, werden die vielfältigen technischen, psychologischen und organisatorischen Aspekte computergestützter Gruppenarbeit zusammengetragen. Zusätzlich wer den Gestaltungsoptionen, Richtungen und Schwerpunkte zukünftiger For schung in diesem Problemfeld aufgezeigt und Methoden zur Realisierung benutzerfreundlicher Gruppensoftware vorgestellt. Während die Forschungsaktivitäten im Bereich der computergestütz ten Gruppenarbeit derzeit intensiviert werden, stehen praktische Gestal tungslösungen, insbesondere für den Bereich der Produktion, noch aus.
