Seiring perkembangan zaman olahraga kian meluas dan memiliki makna yang bersifat universal dan unik. Berawal dari sekadar kegiatan fisik yang menyehatkan badan, mengisi waktu luang, dan media eksistensi diri, akhirnya bergeser menjadi kegiatan yang multikompleks, yaitu memengaruhi dan dipengaruhi oleh fenomena-fenomena lain seperti politik, ekonomi, dan sosial budaya. Fenomena alam yang terjadi di Sungai Kampar, Kabupaten Pelalawan, memiliki ciri khas tersendiri di mana sewaktu-waktu sungai mampu menghasilkan gelombang. Tingginya gelombang tersebut bisa mencapai 4 meter. Gelombang tersebut bisa dijadikan aktivitas surfing oleh surfer, baik lokal maupun mancanegara. Potensi tersebut sangat memungkinkan untuk dikembangkan menjadi objek pariwisata olahraga yang akan memberikan dampak ekonomi terhadap masyarakat yang ada di sekitar objek wisata tersebut. Tentunya setiap pihak memiliki peranan untuk mengembangkan pariwisata ini melalui promosi secara intensif. Promosi pariwisata juga dapat mengangkat keunggulan karya kreatif suatu destinasi. Pariwisata dan ekonomi kreatif diharapkan memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan bagi perekonomian di Kabupaten Pelalawan melalui penciptaan pendapatan asli daerah di sektor pariwisata. Hal ini bisa direalisasikan melalui pengeluaran wisatawan dan investasi pada usaha pariwisata yang meliputi: usaha daya tarik wisata, usaha kawasan pariwisata, jasa transportasi wisata, jasa perjalanan wisata, jasa makanan dan minuman, penyediaan akomodasi, penyelenggaraan kegiatan hiburan dan rekreasi, penyelenggaraan pertemuan, perjalanan insentif, konferensi dan pameran, jasa informasi pariwisata, jasa konsultan pariwisata, jasa pramuwisata, wisata tirta, dan lain sebagainya. Dalam rangka pengembangan Potensi Pariwisata Olahraga Berselancar Ombak Bono, pengelola pariwisata perlu bersinergi dengan program yang direncanakan oleh pemerintah melalui Disparpora supaya bisa direalisasikan. Membentuk struktur pengelola kawasan objek wisata Bono serta mebuat program kerja: perencanaan dan pengembangan objek wisata Bono, perlu peningkatan alokasi anggaran untuk merealisasikan pengembangan sektor pariwisata. Akhir kata, tidak ada yang sempurna secara total dalam kehidupan ini, termasuk isi buku ini. Harapan penulis, semoga saran dan kritikan yang konstruktif bisa terjalin sebagai bahan perbaikan yang lebih baik dan sempurna.
