La primera parte de la obra, titulada Sucesión en los títulos nobiliarios, Constitución y Derecho civil, se ocupa de estudiar el origen de los títulos nobiliarios y su íntima conexión con la Corona, poniendo de relieve la consideración de éstos como nombres de honor y las singularidades propias de la sucesión en los mismos, para analizar, más tarde, la varonía en la sucesión, en relación con la discriminación por razón del sexo, a la luz de las sentencias de los tribunales españoles y de las decisiones de distintas instancias internacionales, fijando, finalmente, la atención en la Ley 33/2006, su posible inconstitucionalidad y su recta interpretación, dejando constancia de la irrelevancia, predicable, de la primogenitura y de la relevancia, plausible, de los méritos, en orden a la sucesión en los títulos dichos.
