In its assessment of the current "state of play" of ethnographic practice in social anthropology, this volume explores the challenges that changing social forms and changing understandings of "the field" pose to contemporary ethnographic methods. These challenges include the implications of the remarkable impact social anthropology is having on neighboring disciplines such as history, sociology, cultural studies, human geography and linguistics, as well as the potential 'costs' of this success for the discipline. Contributors also discuss how the ethnographic method is influenced by current institutional contexts and historical "traditions" across a range of settings. Here ethnography is featured less as a methodological "tool-box" or technique but rather as a subject on which to reflect.

This book is about a journey into the workings of the Soul. The truth about a human being's life purpose and the keys to transform one's life have been discussed and written about for centuries, by many different people, of many different spiritual persuasions. These truths, whilst written in different languages and supported by different religious beliefs, nevertheless have come from the same Divine source, and subsequently are universal truth that when embraced bring forth unified outcomes. In the writing of this book I have harmonized these important Spiritual, Psychological and Philosophical truths, bringing them together to reveal the keys to a holistically successful life, body, mind and Soul. I envisage that by accepting and acting on this truth your life will be quietly transformed, perhaps from one of anxiousness and uncertainty, to one of calm and certainty, which will find you at peace with your past, intensely passionate about your present, and confident and calm about your future.

Unified Protocol For Transdiagnostic Treatment Of Emotional Disorders In Children written by Jill Ehrenreich-May and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-12-20 with Psychology categories.

Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is arguably the most effective psychotherapy model for children and adolescents with emotional disorders (e.g., anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorders, trauma and stress-related disorders, etc.). Emotional disorders in youth frequently overlap or co-occur, and yet many of the existing, effective therapies available for children and adolescents with emotional disorders target just one or a smaller subset of these problems. The Unified Protocols for Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders in Children and Adolescents, based in groundbreaking research from Jill Ehrenreich-May, David H. Barlow, and colleagues, suggest that there may be a simpler and more efficient method of utilizing effective strategies, such as those commonly included in CBT, in a manner that addresses the broad array of emotional disorder symptoms in children and adolescents. The child and adolescent Unified Protocols do this by framing effective strategies in the general language of strong or intense emotions, more broadly, and by targeting change through a common lens that applies across emotional disorders. Specifically, the child and adolescent Unified Protocols help youth by allowing them to focus on a straightforward goal across emotional disorders: reducing intense negative emotion states by extinguishing the distress and anxiety these emotions produce through emotion-focused education, awareness techniques, cognitive strategies, problem-solving and an array of behavioral strategies, including a full-range of exposure and activation techniques. The Unified Protocol for children and adolescents comprises a Therapist Guide, as well as two Workbooks, one for children, and one for adolescents.

Habit Loops written by Lila Santoro and has been published by Publifye AS this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-03-15 with Psychology categories.

Habit Loops: Breaking and Reinforcing Behaviors for Better Mental Health explores the science behind habit formation and its impact on our well-being. It reveals how understanding habit loops—the cue, routine, and reward cycle—can empower us to break unwanted behaviors and cultivate positive ones. The book highlights how habits are deeply rooted in our brains, with the basal ganglia playing a key role in encoding these automatic behaviors. Interestingly, dopamine, a neurotransmitter associated with reward, significantly influences our habit-seeking tendencies. The book provides practical strategies for changing habits, such as modifying cues, substituting routines, and altering rewards. It emphasizes the importance of self-awareness and mindfulness in disrupting ingrained patterns. Readers will learn techniques for building positive habits through goal setting, implementation intentions, and environmental design. The book progresses by first introducing the core concepts, then moves to breaking bad habits, and finally, focuses on building positive ones. What sets Habit Loops apart is its practical, evidence-based approach. It synthesizes research from neuroscience, psychology, and behavioral economics to provide actionable tools for self-improvement and better mental health. Case studies and real-world examples illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed strategies, making it a valuable resource for anyone seeking to understand and reshape their daily routines.
