Pravopisna komisija pri SAZU in ZRC SAZU od 3. decembra 2019 objavlja posodobljena ali na novo zasnovana poglavja pravopisnih pravil, ki so objavljena kot zbirka na portalu Fran. V prvem delu publikacije sta objavljeni poglavji pravopisnih pravil, ki sta bili dani v javno razpravo decembra leta 2021 – »Velika in mala začetnica« ter »Prevzete besede in besedne zveze«. Predlog pravil za pisanje začetnice je glede na predhodna pravila v Slovenskem pravopisu 2001 razširjen in prirejen za spletni medij in za javno razpravo. Med najbolj kompleksnimi vprašanji je bila obravnava začetnice v neprvih sestavinah večbesednih zemljepisnih imen, ki je dogovornega značaja in jih uvrščamo med ožjo pravopisno problematiko. Namen poglavja »Prevzete besede in besedne zveze« je, da predstavlja prevzemanje kot proces in nakazuje možnost soobstajanja besed v različnih podobah – odvisno od besedila in zvrsti. Zlasti v razdelku o splošnih načelih prevzemanja besed so podane smernice za oblikovanje natančnejših pravil za prevzemanje iz tujih jezikov. V drugem delu publikacije so v skladu z željo po čim bolj transparentnem procesu prenove pravil zbrane pripombe javne razprave, ki smo jih marca 2021 jih prejeli bodisi prek spletnih obrazcev bodisi od različnih udeležencev razprave individualno ali skupinsko (mnenja lektorskih skupin ali sodelavcev v kolektivih medijskih hiš).

V prvem delu publikacije sta objavljeni prvi dve poglavji pravopisnih pravil, ki sta bili dani v javno razpravo decembra leta 2019 – »Pisna znamenja« in »Krajšave«. Poglavje »Pisna znamenja« je bilo v primerjavi s tistim v Slovenskem pravopisu iz leta 2001 razširjeno, tj. dopolnjeno s podatki o zadregah, ki jih imajo jezikovni uporabniki takrat, ko se srečujejo bodisi z nečrkovnimi pisnimi znamenji bodisi s črkami, ki niso del slovenske pisave, ali črkami, ki imajo posebno vlogo v besedilu (npr. kot oznake ali simboli). Pri nadaljnji prenovi pravil smo ob pripravi preglednic za prevzemanje iz tujih jezikov ugotovili, da bo treba poglavje o pisnih znamenjih še dopolniti. Drugo poglavje pravil je novo, saj v dosedanjih pravopisih ni bilo potrebe po tako izčrpnem opisu problematike: okrajšave so bile zelo priložnostnega značaja, kodifikacijo simbolov so narekovale stroke, v katerih so se posamezni simboli v različnih vlogah pojavljali, kratice pa so bile obravnavane bodisi kot nepregibni samostalniki bodisi enote, ki iz rabe sčasoma izginejo in se v zapisu in izgovoru prilagodijo navadnim besedam.

Tretja monografija iz niza »razprav o pravopisnih vprašanjih« (pred njo sta izšli monografiji Pravopisna stikanja, 2012, in Pravopisna razpotja, 2015) je priložnost za podrobnejšo predstavitev procesa kodifikacije. Prenova pravopisnega priročnika poteka ob poglobljenem raziskovanju in široko zastavljenih premislekih, pri katerih s svojimi znanji pomagajo tudi strokovnjaki z drugih področij. Na ta način se približujemo končnemu idealu, za katerega se v Pravopisni komisiji pri SAZU in ZRC SAZU zavedamo, da ga bomo težko dosegli – že zato, ker spoštujemo različnost jezikovnih praks in ideologij. Pri tem smo kot kakšne pravopisne kraljične iz Andersenove pravljice, ki se kljub vsem žimnicam in pernicam vedno znova prebujajo ožuljene od pravopisnih zrn graha. Tudi 22 avtoric in avtorjev monografije izkazuje tovrstno občutljivost na različne (ob)pravopisne teme. Njihovih 19 prispevkov je zbranih v tematskih sklopih, naslovljenih »Kodifikacijski proces: vpogledi in uvidi«, »Slovarji, sopotniki pravopisnih pravil«, »Pravopisni in širši pogledi na imena in poimenovanja v slovenščini«, »Prevzemanje v slovenščino med načeli in konkretnimi rešitvami« ter »Pravopis v preseku z glasovno-naglasno, oblikoslovno in besedotvorno problematiko«. Monografija Pravopis na zrnu graha torej ponovno odstira pogled v tematike, ki so z nastajanjem novega pravopisa bolj ali manj tesno povezane.

The study contains a synchronical description of the San Giorgio variety of the Slovene dialect spoken in the Resia valley (Val Resia/Rezijanska dolina) situated in north-eastern Italy. The following linguistic levels are analysed: phonology, morphonology and morphology. Apart from this some remarks on syntax and a lexicon have been included. The first chapter contains an overview of existing descriptive publications on Resian. Taking this overview as a starting point the choice of exactly the San Giorgio variety as the topic of this study is accounted for and the need for not only phonological, but also morphological analysis is made pointed out. The chapter further contains information on the native speakers whose speech is analysed and on the various methods used to obtain the dialect material. In the second chapter the phoneme inventory is presented, along with information on realisations, (optional) neutralisations and sandhi phenomena. Notwithstanding the considerable amount of phonetic detail given, the first and foremost aim of this chapter remains the quest for phonological oppositions and their functioning. In the third chapter the morphonological alternations that occur in the substantive, adjective and verb categories are being treated. Instead of dividing this information over the respective chapters on these categories, the alternations are presented together in a separate chapter, because some of the more frequent of them occur in all these word classes. However, through a classification by accent classes alternations concerning the location of stress are treated together with the word class they occur in. The third through seventh chapter inclusive contain the morphology of the substantive (chapter 4), the adjective (chapter 5), the pronoun, the numeral and the article (chapter 6) and the verb (chapter 7), respectively. In each chapter, together with an inventory of the attested desinences, an overview is given of rare desinences, of irregular declinations/conjugations and of the distribution of alternative desinences.
