Non Being In Ancient Thought written by Dmitri Nikulin and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025 with Philosophy categories.
Non-Being in Ancient Thought is the first book-length study of the concept of non-being in ancient philosophy. Dmitri Nikulin argues that non-being is a central concept in philosophy, but has been neglected for far too long. He demonstrates that non-being is central for the constitution and understanding of being: without non-being, being can neither be nor thought. The philosophical investigation of non-being is therefore necessary for the understanding of being and crucial for reappraising its place in philosophy.

Case Law In Roman Anglosaxon And Continental Law written by María José Falcón y Tella and has been published by BRILL this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-08-25 with Law categories.
Case law is a widely studied field, posing a series of questions. The first issue relates to the nature of case law itself, as the term cannot be given a single meaning. There is no one definition of case law, but rather a plurality of meanings depending on the historical period and legal system in question. After an analysis of Roman iurisprudentia and Anglo-Saxon case law, this work considers the Spanish legal system, as an example of a Continental jurisdiction, and distinguishes between the case laws of the Supreme and Constitutional Courts, the European courts, and the Superior Courts of Justice of the Autonomous Communities. The book analyses these issues, among many others, in a clear and in-depth manner, from an historical and comparative approach of great interest and academic value.

Translation Revision and Post-editing looks at the apparently dissolving boundary between correcting translations generated by human brains and those generated by machines. It presents new research on post-editing and revision in government and corporate translation departments, translation agencies, the literary publishing sector and the volunteer sector, as well as on training in both types of translation checking work. This collection includes empirical studies based on surveys, interviews and keystroke logging, as well as more theoretical contributions questioning such traditional distinctions as translating versus editing. The chapters discuss revision and post-editing involving eight languages: Afrikaans, Catalan, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German and Spanish. Among the topics covered are translator/reviser relations and revising/post-editing by non-professionals. The book is key reading for researchers, instructors and advanced students in Translation Studies as well as for professional translators with a special interest in checking translations.
