Advances in digital technology have driven public administration from new public administration (public administration 3.0) to digital public administration (public administration 4.0). In the same way, advances in artificial intelligence (AI) technology have driven digital public administration (public administration 4.0) into super smart society (public administration 5.0). With official recognition of its existence as a separate era, it can be said that AI is an important condition causing significant changes to public administration. Therefore, understanding it both in theory and in practice is very important. Public Governance Practices in the Age of AI explores the evolution of public administration in the digital age, highlighting the shift from traditional governance models to AI-driven public administration 5.0. It examines the transformative role of artificial intelligence in shaping policies, decision-making, and service delivery, offering insights into both theoretical frameworks and practical applications. Covering topics such as local administrative organizations, public participation, and global digital education, this book is an excellent resource for public administrators, public managers, educators, researchers, professionals, scholars, academicians, and more.

A New Representation Of Chinese Learners written by Yingmei Luo and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-07-26 with Language Arts & Disciplines categories.

This book examines Chinese tertiary students' experiences of learning English in Sino-Australian programs in China. Using an institutional ethnography, the book examines one well-established Sino-Australian program based at a Chinese university. The book explores the ways that participant students used the Chinese words, tropes and their meanings to describe their English learning experiences with both local Chinese and foreign English teachers. This book introduces an innovative theoretical framework, “representation theory with a multilingual perspective”, to analyse how Chinese students' everyday experiences are constructed and mediated through language, discourse and identity. This framework also highlights graphic examples of how concepts are created in both Chinese and English, and thus serves as a powerful tool for deconstructing dichotomies between China and the West. The aim of this book is, then, two-fold: to show how a novel theoretical lens can help us to develop more nuanced understandings of Chinese students, and to propose a new methodological and theoretical framework through which one can challenge the monolingual subjectivity and parochial views of both Chinese and Western conceptions.

In a context where schools are held more and more accountable for the education they provide, data-based decision making has become increasingly important. This book brings together scholars from several countries to examine data-based decision making. Data-based decision making in this book refers to making decisions based on a broad range of evidence, such as scores on students’ assessments, classroom observations etc. This book supports policy-makers, people working with schools, researchers and school leaders and teachers in the use of data, by bringing together the current research conducted on data use across multiple countries into a single volume. Some of these studies are ‘best practice’ studies, where effective data use has led to improvements in student learning. Others provide insight into challenges in both policy and practice environments. Each of them draws on research and literature in the field.

Bridging the gap between higher education research and policy making was always a challenge, but the recent calls for more evidence-based policies have opened a window of unprecedented opportunity for researchers to bring more contributions to shaping the future of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). Encouraged by the success of the 2011 first edition, Romania and Armenia have organised a 2nd edition of the Future of Higher Education – Bologna Process Researchers’ Conference (FOHE-BPRC) in November 2014, with the support of the Italian Presidency of the European Union and as part of the official EHEA agenda. Reuniting over 170 researchers from more than 30 countries, the event was a forum to debate the trends and challenges faced by higher education today and look at the future of European cooperation in higher education. The research volumes offer unique insights regarding the state of affairs of European higher education and research, as well as forward-looking policy proposals. More than 50 articles focus on essential themes in higher education: Internationalization of higher education; Financing and governance; Excellence and the diversification of missions; Teaching, learning and student engagement; Equity and the social dimension of higher education; Education, research and innovation; Quality assurance, The impacts of the Bologna Process on the EHEA and beyond and Evidence-based policies in higher education. "The Bologna process was launched at a time of great optimism about the future of the European project – to which, of course, the reform of higher education across the continent has made a major contribution. Today, for the present, that optimism has faded as economic troubles have accumulated in the Euro-zone, political tensions have been increased on issues such as immigration and armed conflict has broken out in Ukraine. There is clearly a risk that, against this troubled background, the Bologna process itself may falter. There are already signs that it has been downgraded in some countries with evidence of political withdrawal. All the more reason for the voice of higher education researchers to be heard. Since the first conference they have established themselves as powerful stakeholders in the development of the EHEA, who are helping to maintain the momentum of the Bologna process. Their pivotal role has been strengthened by the second Bucharest conference." Peter Scott, Institute of Education, London (General Rapporteur of the FOHE-BPRC first edition)

In the field of academic scholarship, the study of parenting has been extensive, yet it has often been unable to capture the full essence of this complex endeavor. The existing literature has often confined itself to the boundaries of individual disciplines. This limitation has hindered our understanding of the intricate interplay between these aspects and the values and beliefs that guide parenting. Furthermore, in the context of South Asian parents in the UK, the existing research has typically focused on parents from East and Southeast Asia, often leaving the unique experiences of South Asian parents overlooked. Examining Stereotypes and Parenting Behaviors of Asian Heritage Parents: Discourse and Case Studies offers a pioneering solution to this problem. It represents a groundbreaking initiative to break free from the constraints of traditional research methodologies and provide an unfiltered, in-depth look at the real narratives of South Asian parents in the UK. By weaving together the psychological, emotional, social, and cultural dimensions of parenting, this book uncovers a holistic view of this complex journey, one that transcends the limitations of sociology, psychology, or cultural studies. It does not aim to solve problems but rather seeks to capture authentic "family stories" and parenting experiences directly from the voices of the parents themselves.
