Il presente studio è l'elaborato finale di una laurea triennale in Servizio Sociale conseguita presso l'Università di Cassino e del Lazio Meridionale. Vengono analizzati aspetti di psicologia sociale collegati alla omofobia e vengono prese in considerazione la direttiva europea 2000/78/CE ed il corrispondente disegno legge 2003/267 per la definizione di normative mirate ad arginare fenomeni di discriminazione sui luoghi di lavoro basato su orientamento sessuale e identità di genere. Vengono infine prese in considerazione alcune buone pratiche internazionali e nazionali per arginare il fenomeno.

"L'idea che vi fosse un gruppo di persone che in sé possedevano sia la condizione di essere omosessuali o transessuali, sia la condizione di essere persone in divisa, mi sembrava dirompente rispetto agli stereotipi esistenti nel mondo LGBTI, nel mondo delle forze dell'ordine e in generale nella società italiana, dove ogni aspetto tende a essere ideologizzato: essere omosessuali è di sinistra, essere poliziotti è di destra. Queste due caratteristiche apparentemente in conflitto, questa discrepanza, per me era molto interessante. Di fatto come LGBTI in divisa ci troviamo a vivere una doppia discriminazione: come omosessuali nei nostri ambienti di lavoro e non, e come persone in divisa nell'ambiente LGBTI e non."
