This book studies the developments of the Brexit process between June 2016 and June 2017. The British electorate’s decision to leave the European Union in June 2016 marks a major point in post war British politics, for it overturns the core policy of all preceding British governments since the early 1960s. The referendum brought down one Prime Minister, David Cameron, and bequeathed to his successor, Theresa May, the considerable challenge of negotiating the UK’s departure from the EU. The magnitude of the task is colossal. While the time frame to secure the terms of the exit is short, the exact form of Brexit remains unclear to this day. With this book the author sets the context for the negotiations. He introduces the actors and the negotiating teams and highlights the key issues and considerations of both sides. While some works just focus on the interplay between Brussels and London, neglecting the internal regional dimension and the role and interests of the devolved administrations in the negotiations, the author looks specifically at Northern Ireland, the part of the UK that will be affected most by Brexit – in terms of both its economic and political significance. The book concludes with consideration of the impact of the 2017 general election on the negotiations. It will be of interest to students, scholars, policy makers and the wider reader interested in British politics and the future of the EU.

In the absence of a Withdrawal Agreement, which would put in place a transition period until the end of 2020 (with the possibility of an extension foreseen in the Withdrawal agreement), the UK will be treated as a non-EU country for customs purposes as of 30 March 2019. It is now urgent that businesses in the EU start preparing for the UK's withdrawal, if they have not yet done so.

Worried about food shortages and price rises after Brexit? Then this book is for you! "Rawson is well informed on how dependent Britain is on imported foods and medicines" - ABC News Written by an experienced prepper, the book explains: Why many people are concerned about food shortages and price increases after Brexit What prepping is and why people do it How the reader can decide how much prepping is right for them The book includes sections on: Where to Start What to Buy (Food, Water, Other Supplies) and where to get them Where and how to store supplies How to stretch your supplies to last longer if needed Finding other food sources to supplement your supplies Sample shopping lists and meal plans to make an easy start The book also covers: Sustainable food sources for the longer term Prepping for babies and young children Prepping for pets Maintaining good morale in difficult circumstances As well as showing the reader how to plan their emergency food stockpiling, book also gives meal ideas and recipes and giving an ideal starting point for anyone new to prepping who wants to plan their stockpile. As seen in The Times, The iPaper, ABC News, Daily Mail, Daily Record Newspapers. About the Author The author lives in a rural part of the UK with their partner and young family. Prepping has been part of their life for a few years, beginning one winter when the local shops couldn't get their deliveries because the roads were shut due to snow, meaning nobody could get out of the village either. Finding the shops empty of food and with no way to get more was a wake-up call as to how vulnerable our food supplies are. Starting with an emergency supply in case the village was cut off again (which has been used a number of times), the supply has now grown to enough to feed the whole family for a number of months. Uncertainty over Brexit was enough to justify adding another few months' worth of supplies to the store. Seeing how worried many people who may never have even heard about prepping are about Brexit prompted the author to write this book. The author and family are ordinary people with ordinary jobs and lifestyles and this book aims to show other people what they can do to protect themselves against the uncertainty that Brexit brings, in terms of food shortages anyway.
