Being married for over 45 years, and deeply in love with his wife, gave Tom many opportunities to show his affection through morning love notes, and journaling became his expression to God for guiding him through this life. Tom's prayer in these expressions of poetry, is that you, the reader, would take to heart these truths and insights, and be encouraged. Let these nuggets, of revelations find fertile soil, and add to your quest to know God more intimately, who made heaven and earth. To these purposes, this book is committed to His Glory!

Nita Lupi (1900-1999) was a prolific writer who published four works of poetry during her lifetime, as well as short stories, newspaper articles, ethnographies, and works on musicology. When she died in 1999 (a year short of her 100th birthday), Nita Lupi left behind a collection of poems for a fifth book of poetry. The collection showed Lupi's maturing process: from saudosismo (nostalgia) to contemplation, to the eventual acceptance of the inexorable cycle of life. This anthology includes twenty-six of Lupi's previously unpublished manuscripts in the original Portuguese, with English translations, followed by a close analysis and critical interpretation of the texts. In an effort to rescue her work from oblivion, the mission of this book is to open the path for future studies into the poetic wealth that is the world of Nita Lupi.

The Presence of Absence is a collection of 40 poems about death. And about life. And about the continuous thread that meanders through these two extremes, linking them in inexplicable yet unmistakable ways. The poems explore loss, love, hope, and memory; the yearning through life's turns and twists; the confusion in painful endings; the acceptance and even gratitude in the natural cycles of our world. We cannot hold loss in our hands. We cannot touch tragedy, or explore its edges with fingertips. But we can know the "intimate grasp of the invisible" in the deepest, most sacred places of the heart. From a nursing home to a church parking lot, from a train station to a lawyer's office, from the open beauty of nature to an inner personal turmoil at home, the settings in this collection lead the reader through an environment of emotion that varies widely, yet always returns to the center by the paths that remain true. In both living and dying, we must make room for that mysterious element we may never understand. Recognizing this truth may be enough to "redeem the day," even as we struggle in our humanity to make sense of our world. Sometimes, there is a perceptible presence in death and loss, and sometimes, a discernable absence in living. These poems reach towards and acknowledge both.

Poetry. PRESENCE OF LIFE is Eric Hoffman's poetic adaptation of scholar Brad Inwood's original translation of the extant fragments of the Pythagorean Pre-Socratic Empedocles, one of antiquities' most influential thinkers and the last ancient Greek philosopher to have recorded his ideas in verse. Hoffman renders Empedocles' vision into a startlingly modern idiom that repositions the fragments as an ultimately poetic text.

IN THE PRESENCE OF LOVE Ernesto is poetry in practice. When you read this book, you will get an intimate and profound glimpse of this very special man who says, "This particular book could be defined in the phrase ''love is not only for oneself but for the beloved''," but for Ernesto, the beloved is God. And it is true. Even though at first the poems may evoke feelings for a "luscious" woman, soon you will realize that the writings are about Sod, the Divine. As Ernesto searches for the presence of God in his life, his soul gets inspiration from things most of us take for granted...the fact that he is alive, the way he embraces life in the moment. In fact, when he sometimes has revisited his own writings, he questions: "Did I write that?" not because he can''t write, but because he can sense a heighten presence in the words. He didn''t want to publish this work. This is a very private and personal body of thought he has developed for himself only, but the practice of the Akashi records suggested to him sharing his feelings and emotions for the benefit of others, because In The Presence Of Love should inspire the reader their own inner search. This accumulation of life experiences Ernesto is sharing with you hopefully will bring meaning to your quest..."it is possible to achieve enlightenment and connection to God and oneself"

The Presence Of Absence written by Richard Bell and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-11-09 with categories.

"In this sequence of poems, accomplished poet Richard Bell pays homage to his wife of many years, who died of cancer. In doing so, he explores the process of grieving, finding it to be inseparable from memory and, ultimately, from love. Memories and feelings both have a kind of autonomy; they surface unpredictably, according to their own rhythms; they are not in the control of the poet, who observes, suffers, recalls and threads lines together. Yet while they are partially detached from the poet's will, memories and feelings inform a new sense of identity. Inevitably, this involves a radically altered sense of time: time has become newly precious, since a central relationship has been curtailed by it, yet that relationship continues timelessly. Just as the emotional effect of the book is more than the sum of its poem parts, so the sustained love of the poet's life is discovered to be more than his own feelings and memories and the sense of a shared life: 'There is a you and me/that goes beyond/what is' ('Grief is just another feeling'). Indeed, one of the book's great strengths is the portrayal of the lively personality of the poet's wife - her nervousness, good humour, wit and joie de vivre. Many of the poems address her, bringing the realisation that the poet alone is now the repository of shared memories: 'Just drying my hands/on your towel: I am you now/and you can be me' ('Seven Senryū'). The repeated sense of absence gives rise to a new set of relations, marked by new permissions, such as the interpolation of Richard's recollections in poetry into the young Sue's diary. Powerful physical attraction dominates, poignantly, yet in the end the couple cannot be separated: 'I am as much of you/as I am of me. Thanks./R.' ('Gratitude'). These are poems not only for the bereaved but for anyone who has ever loved." - Carolyn Masel, author of Moorings
