"Lingua e linguistica, letteratura italiana a dialogo con quella straniera, didattica delle lingue. Questi gli argomenti trattati nel volume a cura di Elena Pîrvu, docente di italiano all'Università di Craiova, e frutto dell'importante convegno internazionale che si è svolto nella città romena tra il 18 e il 19 settembre del 2015. A discutere di presente e futuro della lingua e letteratura italiana, numerosi docenti provenienti da molte parti del mondo, in particolare dell'est Europa. Oggi i risultati della due giorni di studi sono pubblicati in un'importante edizione, composta in tutto da settanta saggi che approfondiscono sotto differenti punti di vista e prospettive alcune tematiche strutturali della linguistica, della letteratura italiana, della comparatistica e della didattica delle lingue. I dialetti, l'importanza dei neologismi come segni di vitalità linguistica, la tensione tra neostandard e italiani regionali, lo studio della cinesica, sono solo alcuni dei temi che compongono la sezione di analisi linguistica. Sono, invece, focalizzati su letteratura italiana e comparata i contributi che trattano della visione della letteratura come labirinto e sfida, caos e ordine in Calvino e Baricco, della polemica Pasolini-Sanguineti, della scrittura femminile in Italia, di malattie, consigli e rimedi contenuti nel Decameron di Boccaccio, solo per fare qualche esempio. Affrontano, infine, tematiche legate all'apprendimento di una lingua straniera, tra gli altri, i saggi sull'uso dei proverbi nella glottodidattica dell'italiano, sull'importanza della comunicazione - verbale e non - nella professione di insegnante di lingua straniera e quella della sintassi." This book outlines a short profile of Italy's linguistic history, and discusses some current problems related to globalization, the values of the mother tongue and multilingualism, and the need to re-found the Italian and European linguistic policy on a new basis. Contemporary Italian is a particularly stratified cultural asset in which, alongside the many new elements, one can grasp the clear and precious signs of a very strong connection with the past. Today, in the European scene, Italy indeed stands out for its accentuated multilingualism and the long duration of its national language. On the one hand, the extraordinary animal and plant biodiversity in the country corresponds to an extraordinary cultural and linguistic diversity; on the other, the Italians feel that the language used by Dante, Petrarca and Boccaccio still belongs to them, and has fundamental traits coinciding with their own. Such richness is particularly appreciated abroad (as evidenced by the growing demand for Italian speakers in the world) and deserves to be better acknowledged by the younger generations. It also deserves to be protected and valued with appropriate tools, starting with a decisive rethinking of the country's linguistic policy.

Valore assoluto, rappresentatività e, naturalmente, gusto personale sono i criteri che il grande storico della lingua Luca Serianni ha seguito nella scelta di cento poesie scritte 'in italiano' nell'arco di otto secoli di storia letteraria.
