“Tracciando un confine non si dice ancora perché lo si traccia”, sostiene Wittgenstein nelle Ricerche filosofiche. Questa operazione concettuale e pragmatica è inevitabile e perfino necessaria, ma la si può spiegare, invece di abbandonarla al pregiudizio, per tracciarne confini sensati e che permettano lo sviluppo delle facoltà e delle relazioni umane. I contributi raccolti in questo volume presentano modelli gnoseologici critici rispetto all’“atteggiamento naturale” che assume i fatti e le opinioni come mere datità. Gli studi qui raccolti sul metodo diairetico dei tardi dialoghi platonici, il dibattito tardoantico sulla classificazione, le teorie del giudizio/ critiche del pregiudizio tra Descartes e Kant, la critica del “pensiero astratto” di Hegel, l’analisi fenomenologica del mondo della vita, l’esame delle norme nella biopolitica e nelle pratiche giuridiche, la relazione tra emozioni e pregiudizi, il pregiudizio informatico e quello antropologico hanno l’intento di chiarire come ogni confine che definisce l’esperienza presupponga strutture cognitive che non siano del tutto indipendenti dai vari modi di vivere, ma che con esse siano in rapporti teleologici complessi. La critica dei pregiudizi va unita alla critica della conoscenza e alla capacità di discutere la coerenza e la validità dei sistemi di scopi che governano la prassi.

This volume aims to make a significant contribution to the debate surrounding the renaissance of Kant studies in the last few decades, with a particular emphasis upon some 'problems of reason'. Like no other, Kant covered the entire breadth of the modern debate concerning the concept of reason and its forms. Accordingly, despite the range of topics this volume inevitably deals with, Immanuel Kant remains the common point of reference for all contributions. The volume is divided into two sections. The first section is dedicated to Kant's philosophy in particular and its relationship with the philosophies of Kant's predecessors. From the perspective of the history of philosophy, interpretations of the significance of different philosophical traditions concerning Kant's thought will be given, and of the relationship of Kant's thought to the problems of reason with which Kant and his predecessors dealt. The second section is dedicated to the legacy of Kant's philosophy. The relevance of the concept of rationality for the genesis and systematics of post-Kantian ideas of rationality will be discussed, and the potential of Kant's critical philosophy - for contemporary thought as well - will be examined.

Chiudono il libro alcuni studi incentrati sulla ricezione di Gramsci nel mondo anglofono, in cui non a caso ricorrono le questioni appena elencate.
