Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Politik, Majoritäten, Minoritäten, Note: 1,8, Katholische Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (Allgemeine Soziologie), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In einer Welt, in der die nationalen Grenzen der Wirklichkeitswahrnehmung zunehmend zerbrechen, in der ein nie dagewesener Überfluss vorhanden ist; in einer Welt in der Mangel und Armut zur Tagesordnung gehören, muss die Soziologie, laut Reinhard Kreckel, einen neuen Rahmen für die Erfassung von sozialen Ungleichheiten entwickeln. Dabei muss eine Abkehr von der nationalen hin zur globalen Sichtweise stattfinden (vgl. Kreckel S. 3ff.). Durch die Globalisierung, so Ulrich Beck, wird der nationalstaatliche Rahmen zur Erfassung von sozialen Ungleichheiten aufgebrochen und es entsteht ein Perspektivenwechsel hin zu globalen Ungleichheiten (vgl. Beck 1997 S. 28ff.). Ausgehend von den Überlegungen von Kreckel und Beck, soll das Ziel dieser Diplomarbeit sein, die Implikationen und Probleme der globalen Ungleichheitsforschung offenzulegen. Bedenkt man, dass die Einkommensunterschiede zwischen den Nationen größer sind, als innerhalb einer einzigen Nation, und dass die Ungleichheiten innerhalb eines Landes nur von einem Viertel bis zu einem Drittel durch interne Faktoren erklärbar sind, d. h. das 65 - 75 Prozent durch den globalen Gesamtkontext bestimmt werden, scheint ein Blick über die nationalen Grenzen hinaus unerlässlich (vgl. Firebaugh 2003 S. 365f.; Kreckel 2006 S. 4). Die globale Sichtweise ist weitaus mehr als die Summe aller Nationalstaaten und deren Beziehungen. Sie ist vielmehr als "die" Gesamtheit zu verstehen und bildet daher einen eigenen Untersuchungsgegenstand (vgl. Greve / Heintz 2005 S. 89). Durch die Erfassung von globalen, sozialen Ungleichheiten, wird ein neuer Wirklichkeitsbereich erzeugt, welcher nicht mehr nur durch den nationalstaatlichen Rahmen gedeckt werden kann.
