Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich BWL - Personal und Organisation, Note: 1,7, Universitat Bayreuth, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Ausgangspunkt der vorliegenden Arbeit ist die Fragestellung, inwiefern sich kulturelle Unterschiede auf die Zusammenarbeit von Deutschen und Russen in multikulturellen Arbeitsgruppen auswirken. Dabei wird insbesondere betrachtet, welche kulturellen Pragungen arbeitsbezogene Verhaltensweisen beeinflussen. Auerdem interessieren die soziopolitischen, rechtlichen und wirtschaftlichen Rahmenbedingungen, unter denen wirtschaftliches Handeln in der Russischen Foderation stattfindet. Antworten auf die Fragestellungen sollen in dieser Arbeit auf zwei Wegen gefunden werden. Zunachst wird untersucht, welchen Beitrag Kulturdimensionskonzepte zur Beantwortung der Ausgangsfragestellung leisten konnen. Erlautert werden die Kulturdimensionskonzepte am Beispiel der GLOBE-study von House et al. (2004). Anhand dieser aktuellen und umfangreichen Studie sollen die Hauptfragestellungen der vorliegenden Arbeit beantwortet werden. Welche Aussagen lassen sich mit diesem Instrument uber kulturelle Unterschiede zwischen Russland und Deutschland treffen? Welche Auswirkungen haben diese Unterschiede auf das Verhalten in interkulturellen Situationen? Lassen sich Ruckschlusse uber arbeitsbezogene Verhaltensweisen lokaler Mitarbeiter im Zusammenspiel mit deutschem Entsendungspersonal treffen? Welche Inderdependenzen zwischen Kultur und wirtschaftlichen und sozialen Faktoren gibt es? Wo liegen die Grenzen der Aussagekraft von Kulturdimensionskonzepten? An diesen Grenzen soll dann die empirische Untersuchung anknupfen, indem von den hochaggregierten Aussagen der GLOBE-study auf die individuelle Perspektive von lokalen Mitarbeitern und deutschen Entsandten gewechselt wird.

The development of EU enlargement has raised many thorny issues unanticipated by the framers of the EC Treaty. A significant upshot of these issues is that the concept of European identity – defined in terms of such factors as culture, history and economics – has supplanted the long-dominant theme of ‘widening and deepening,’ particularly since the Union’s expansion has become primarily eastward. The major contribution of this important book lies in its analysis of the conceptualization and perception of enlargement from various points of view, focusing on the concerns of stakeholders and the ‘identity’ conflicts and uncertainties incurred by enlargement initiatives. In the course of its presentation, it details the actual pre-accession Europeanization process and its complex history. Among the key elements discussed are the following: the conflict between ‘widening’ and ‘deepening’ and the effect on EU institutional reform; institutional requirements on candidate countries; pre-accession criteria and negotiations; administrative capacity, judicial capacity, and legal approximation in accession states; capacity of the EU to absorb new Member States; and EC law as part of European identity. Also covered are specific historical details of particular pre-accession negotiations (e.g., Greece, Spain, Portugal, Malta, and Cyprus), the still inconclusive negotiations with Turkey and the Western Balkan states, and political factors involved in the non-accession of Norway, Iceland and Switzerland. Assembling powerful evidence and applying incisive analysis, the author’s conclusion shows that, absent further (and major) EU institutional reform, it will be difficult for an enlarging Union to continue to ‘deliver the goods.’ A watershed in the continuing great debate on the fulfilment of the EC Treaty’s determination to foster and promote ‘an ever closer union of the peoples of Europe,’ this book will prove invaluable to anybody interested in the European integration project, particularly lawyers, academics, officials and policymakers in the EU Member States.

Who, in 1945 and 1946, could have foreseen that the economic and social integration of the millions of Germans from the East expelled into West Germany after Wodd War II would largely be accomplished in a few years? And, who could have foreseen that many years after this accomplishment the political repercussions of the expulsions would go on? Yet, surprisingly enough, this is what has happened. In 1969, as usual, the major issues of the federal election campaign in West Germany hardly reflect any specific economic and social concerns of the expellees, not even those bruited about by the NPD (N ationaldemokratische Partei Deutschlands). At the same time, how ever, all the political parties vying in the campaign, with the exception of the newly founded, less influentialDKP (the new German Commu nist Party), pay considerable deference to the political interests of the expellees in the German question. Whether these interests represent the opinion of most of the expellees and whether the expellee associ ations in fact speak for many voters is another matter. Why are these questions rarely posed? Why, despite the economic and social integration of the expellees, do the East German Home land Provincial Societies - the Landsmannschaften - retain much influence? The explanation of this phenomenon becomes increasingly clear if one reads the intelligent and superbly documented analysis by Hans Schoenberg.
