Purpose: The principle purpose of this study is to identify the major problems faced by women entrepreneurs in Pakistan and also find the impact of these problems on the working efficiency of these women entrepreneurs.Research design/Methodology: The data collected was subjected to quantitative analysis Total, Average and Percentage/frequency to find the major problematic factors and chi square test is applied to find the statistical significance of the hypotheses for possible acceptance or rejection. Findings: Results of the analysis indicate that women entrepreneurs in Pakistan generally face three types of problems like entrepreneurial/business problems, social/personal problems and technical problems. And all these three types of problems have negative relation with the working efficiency of women entrepreneurs.Practical Implication: The study might help the government regulators in addressing the problems of women entrepreneurs in Pakistan to take actions to towards developing their performance and in turn to elevate poverty from Pakistan.Originality/Value: This research article adds to the literature on the determinants of problems faced by the women entrepreneurs in Pakistan. In particular, it is the first study of its own type in case of Pakistan which has categorized the problems faced by women entrepreneurs in entrepreneurial/business problems, social/personal problems and technical problems.

The Middle East was the region least impacted in the 2008 crisis, has investment systems markedly different to the West, is largely governed by Islamic Shari’a, and has varying forms of governance and institutional organization, which are not understood by many, nor how these systems shape entrepreneurial and industrial development. While the Middle East as a region has seen a small growth in entrepreneurship for women, and business scholarship on the Middle East has grown, there is no text in English that has brought critical insights from the Middle East together in a single volume. In examining women’s entrepreneurship in the Middle East, this book aims to challenge Global North assumptions about the disempowering impacts of Islamic Shari’a and governance. Referring to the constraints of Islam on women’s subjectivity and agency greatly misunderstands religious identity, of both men and women, and the way in which public administration and private sector institutions are organized in very different ways to Western regions. In recent years, Pakistan controls on terrorism activities and move forward towards economic stability. According to the study, only 1% of women social entrepreneurs out of 21% of male social entrepreneurs are operating in Pakistan. This shows the lowest rate of females operating in social business ventures inside Pakistan. This research is based on identifying the challenges faced by women Social Entrepreneurs from KPK and FATA (terrorism affected areas), Pakistan. Women in these areas have sturdy social and cultural influence. Therefore, it is important to identify what factors affecting the process of their operations and in executing their businesses in the local market. Moreover, about 88 to 90% of females started their businesses in social defiance. Hence, most of them work quietly for the first year in business. This research will address those challenging factors faced by women social entrepreneurs of KPK and FATA in daily life.

Women are an emerging economic force that policymakers cannot afford to ignore. There are however a number of constraints to women owned businesses that need to be addressed. In overcoming these obstacles, there are actions to be taken by government, financial institutions and employers' organizations by working closely with women business associations. It is important for women entrepreneurs to join hands with mainstream employers' organizations so that these obstacles, challenges and problems can be turned into legitimate policies. Globally, women are enhancing, directing, and changing the face of how business is done today. It is estimated that presently women entrepreneurs comprise about 10% of the total entrepreneurs in India. It is also clear that this percentage is growing every year. Gender gaps in womens’ economic opportunities—labor market and entrepreneurship—have remained high in India. Lack of adequate collateral limits women entrepreneurs’ ability to access formal finance, leaving them to rely on informal sources, constraining their growth. A small-open economy DSGE model is built to investigate the long-run macroeconomic impacts from closing gender gaps in financial access. Results suggest that an increase in women entrepreneurs access to formal credit results in higher female entrepreneurship and employment, which boosts India’s output by 1.6 percent. However, regulations and gender-specific constraints in the labor market limit potential gains as females’ access to quality jobs in the formal sector remains restricted. The paper shows that the factors influencing the number of females are different from those influencing the share of females in formal economic activity. Combining gender-targeted financial inclusion policies with policies that lower constraints on formal sector employment could boost India’s output by 6.8 percent.
