Inhaltsangabe:Zusammenfassung: In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden Untersuchungen mit dem Ziel durchgeführt, Körpermaße von Personen anhand von Foto- und Videoaufnahmen festzustellen und die erhaltenen Messergebnisse mit entsprechenden Maßen zu vergleichen, die durch direkte anthropometrische Messung an denselben Personen erhalten worden waren. Mit Hilfe dieses Methodenvergleiches sollen Erkenntnisse und Erfahrungen über die Zuverlässigkeit der Erfassung von Körpermaßen auf Bilddokumenten gesammelt und eventuell erforderliche Korrekturdaten für die Messergebnisse erarbeitet werden. Körpermaße können ein wesentliches Hilfsmittel bei der Personenerkennung sein. Die Methodik der Feststellung von Körpermaßen am Menschen wird Anthropometrie genannt. Sie stellte eine wichtige Arbeitsmethode der Anthropologie und der Rechtsmedizin dar: Die Personenidentifizierung durch die Anthropometrie geht im wesentlichen auf BERTILLON zurück. Das von ihm ausgearbeitete Untersuchungsverfahren wurde 1882 in die Ermittlungs- und Arbeitstechniken der Polizei in Frankreich, später auch im übrigen Europa und vielen Ländern der Welt eingeführt. Zu jener Zeit war die Daktyloskopie als erkennungsdienstliche Methode noch nicht bekannt. Sie wurde erst im Jahre 1888 als Arbeitstechnik der Polizei in Preußen eingeführt. Im Unterschied zur anthropologischen und rechtsmedizinischen Forschung hat die Anthropometrie für die erkennungsdienstliche Arbeit der Kriminalpolizei heute kaum noch eine Bedeutung. Dass die Feststellung von anthropometrischen Körpermaßen für Zwecke der Identifizierung von Personen in jüngster Zeit wieder an Relevanz gewonnen hat, geht besonders auf die Forschungen von HELMER zurück. Er untersuchte die Möglichkeiten, Körpermaße von vermummten und unkenntlich gemachten Straftätern zu erfassen, die auf Tatfotos oder Videofilmen von Überwachungskameras bei Bankraub, Geiselnahme, Computerbetrug oder anderen Straftaten abgebildet worden waren, um diese Werte mit den entsprechenden Maßen von tatverdächtigen Personen vergleichen zu können. Insbesondere wenn keine Fingerabdrücke und Mikrospuren oder Aufnahmen des Gesichtes, das nach HUNGER und LEOPOLD den höchsten Informationsgehalt aller Körperteile bietet, vorhanden sind, werden solche alternative Methoden zur Täterbeschreibung und -identifizierung benötigt.
