GMP and MPFR are portable libraries for arbitrary precision arithmetic, large set of functions which allows to organize the computational process with different digit capacity. This book is a real guide for writing programs in C/C++ using the GMP and MPFR libraries to improve the accuracy of the solutions, including in parallel programming. The book contains many examples of the program code with its experiments results. It will be interesting for many scientists, programmers and students, who want to study programming, improve or expand their level programming. The book is useful for graduates in computer science and mathematics (perhaps too specialized for the most of undergraduates, at least in its present state), researchers in Numerical Analysis, Computer Algebra and developers of the multiple-precision libraries.

Implementing cryptography requires integers of significant magnitude to resist cryptanalytic attacks. Modern programming languages only provide support for integers which are relatively small and single precision. The purpose of this text is to instruct the reader regarding how to implement efficient multiple precision algorithms. Bignum math is the backbone of modern computer security algorithms. It is the ability to work with hundred-digit numbers efficiently using techniques that are both elegant and occasionally bizarre. This book introduces the reader to the concept of bignum algorithms and proceeds to build an entire library of functionality from the ground up. Through the use of theory, pseudo-code and actual fielded C source code the book explains each and every algorithm that goes into a modern bignum library. Excellent for the student as a learning tool and practitioner as a reference alike BigNum Math is for anyone with a background in computer science who has taken introductory level mathematic courses. The text is for students learning mathematics and cryptography as well as the practioner who needs a reference for any of the algorithms documented within. * Complete coverage of Karatsuba Multiplication, the Barrett Algorithm, Toom-Cook 3-Way Multiplication, and More * Tom St Denis is the developer of the industry standard cryptographic suite of tools called LibTom. * This book provides step-by-step exercises to enforce concepts

Fast Multiplication Of Multiple Precision Integers written by Sonja Benz and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1991 with Algorithms categories.

"Multiple-precision multiplication algorithms are of fundamental interest for both theoretical and practical reasons. The conventional method requires 0(n2) bit operations whereas the fastest known multiplication algorithm is of order 0(n log n log log n). The price that has to be paid for the increase in speed is a much more sophisticated theory and programming code. This work presents an extensive study of the best known multiple-precision multiplication algorithms. Different algorithms are implemented in C, their performance is analyzed in detail and compared to each other. The break even points, which are essential for the selection of the fastest algorithm for a particular task, are determined for a given hardware software combination."--Abstract.

This users manual describes PRECISE - a completely assembled interpretive program for the IBM 7090/7094 which enables the user to carry out arithmetic operations and function generation in multiple precision (accuracy to 28 significant figures). PRECISE operates as a sub-monitor under the IBSYS or DC-IBSYS monitor systems. Appendixes describe how jobs are set up to be run under the PRECISE sub-monitor, and how the system may be expanded to include new subroutines. The program which responds to instructions in the form of plain English sentences or contractions thereof, has provision for handling numbers out of the normal 7090/7094 range. It handles numbers as large as 10 to the 10 to the 9 power. Other features of the program include: free-field input; a work-sheet of 7,500 cells (3x2500 computer words) which can be dimensioned by the user at run time (75 rows by 100 columns, 300 rows by 25 columns, (etc.); solution of systems of linear equations in as many as 85 unknowns; flexible formatting; tape handling facility; and row and column sums. A description of the UOM Multiple Precision Package (SHARE Dist. No. 3081) is included as an appendix. (Author).

C Xsc written by Rudi Klatte and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Computers categories.

C-XSC is a tool for the development of numerical algorithms delivering highly accurate and automatically verified results. It provides a large number of predefined numerical data types and operators. These types are implemented as C++ classes. Thus, C-XSC allows high-level programming of numerical applications in C and C++. The most important features of C-XSC are: real, complex, interval, and complex interval arithmetic; dynamic vectors and matrices; subarrays of vectors and matrices; dotprecision data types, predefined arithmetic operators with maximum accuracy; standard functions of high accuracy; multiple precision arithmetic and standard functions; rounding control for I/O data; error handling, and library of problem solving routines with automatic result verification. Thus, C-XSC makes the computer more powerful concerning the arithmetic. C-XSC is immediately usable by C programmers, easy to learn, user-extendable, and may also be combined with other tools. The book can be used as a textbook and as a reference manual. It consists of an introduction to advanced computer arithmetic, a chapter describing the programming languages C and C++, the major chapter "C-XSC Reference", sample programs, and indices.

Pi A Source Book written by J.L. Berggren and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-01-13 with Mathematics categories.

This book documents the history of pi from the dawn of mathematical time to the present. One of the beauties of the literature on pi is that it allows for the inclusion of very modern, yet accessible, mathematics. The articles on pi collected herein fall into various classes. First and foremost there is a selection from the mathematical and computational literature of four millennia. There is also a variety of historical studies on the cultural significance of the number. Additionally, there is a selection of pieces that are anecdotal, fanciful, or simply amusing. For this new edition, the authors have updated the original material while adding new material of historical and cultural interest. There is a substantial exposition of the recent history of the computation of digits of pi, a discussion of the normality of the distribution of the digits, and new translations of works by Viete and Huygen.
