Dazu soll der Fertigstellungsgrad (FG) der laufenden Projekte angezeigt werden, auf Basis dessen jeweils ein anteiliger Planwert für Umsatz, Kosten und Ergebnis ermittelt werden kann, dem in Folge die Ist-Situation der Projekte gegenübergestellt wird. Anhand der aus diesem Vergleich gewonnen Informationen sollen die Projekte miteinander verglichen werden und eventueller Steuerungsbedarf festgestellt werden können. Zusätzlich zu laufenden Projekten sollen auch abgeschlossene Projekte mit Hilfe des Tools überprüft werden können, um es der Geschäftszweigleitung zu ermöglichen, Rückschlüsse auf die allgemeine Planungsweise der Projektverantwortlichen ziehen zu können.
