Luc Cortebeeck lleva más de cincuenta años trabajando por la justicia social. En la OIT, como miembro del Grupo Trabajador, fue durante 12 años vicepresidente de la Comisión de Normas (2000-2011), vicepresidente del Consejo de Administración (2011-2017) y presidente del mismo Consejo (2017-2018). Fue miembro hasta 2021.
