El control activo de ruido permite la cancelación del ruido acústico en el ambiente y presenta numerosas ventajas respecto a las técnicas tradicionales de control pasivo existentes. Los sistemas de control activo de ruido (ANC) basados en la teoría de filtrado adaptivo fueron desarrollados en la década de los 8Os, sin embargo, sólo la reciente introducción de los procesadores digitales de señales (DSP) han hecho posible la implementación práctica de éste tipo de sistemas. Los DSPs fueron diseñados para procesamiento numérico en tiempo real de señales digitales. Estos dispositivos permiten la implementación de los algoritmos adaptivos a un bajo costo y con excelente rendimiento. El presente trabajo presenta el diseño de un prototipo para el control activo de ruido en una cabina de vehículo utilizando un procesador digital de señales de punto flotante. Se explica a detalle los fundamentos de las técnicas de filtrado existentes y los sistemas de control activo de ruido comerciales. Además, se realiza una explicación de la arquitectura y operación de los procesadores digitales de señales existentes y el alto rendimiento logrado con éste tipo de dispositivos. También se presenta una investigación bibliográfica extensa de los sistemas de control activo de ruido desde sus inicios hasta la actualidad, indicando los trabajos realizados hasta la fecha. Finalmente se muestran los resultados obtenidos con el prototipo desarrollado y se comparan con los resultados obtenidos en trabajos anteriores.

Resumen: En el presente proyecto de grado se propone un sistema para la construcción de mapas de ruido, a partir de la medición directa de este en el lugar donde se encuentra las fuentes emisoras, con el fin de representar de forma gráfica los niveles de ruido y facilitar el análisis al momento de tomar medidas de control. Dicho sistema se encuentra conformado por dos elementos, un sonómetro virtual y un programa que se encarga de graficar el mapa. El sonómetro virtual, mide el ruido del sitio, utilizando como sistema de adquisición la tarjeta de sonido del computador y el "Data Acquisition toolbox" del software MATLAB ®, convirtiéndose en un instrumento de medición confiable a un costo relativamente bajo. Por otro lado, el programa que realiza la gráfica del mapa de ruido, se encarga de interpolar los resultados de las mediciones obtenidas por medio del sonómetro virtual, para estimar valores desconocidos a partir de los registros realizados y para conseguir más puntos al momento de graficar el mapa de ruido, y así finalmente graficar las isolineas con los colores establecidos en la Resolución Numero 627 de 07 de abril de 2006.

This open access book presents current knowledge about ecosystem services (ES) in urban planning, and discusses various urban ES topics such as spatial distribution of urban ecosystems, population distribution, and physical infrastructure properties.
