Niniejsza publikacja przybliża problematykę prowadzenia działań ratowniczych podczas zdarzeń z udziałem pojazdów o napędzie elektrycznym. Powstała ona przy współpracy z przedstawicielami Komendy Głównej Państwowej Straży Pożarnej, Polskiego Stowarzyszenia Paliw Alternatywnych i Instytucji Faradaya Uniwersytetu Newcastle w Wielkiej Brytanii. Przedstawione wnioski i rekomendacje powstały na podstawie analizy literatury przedmiotu oraz własnych obserwacji i doświadczeń autorów, a także – przede wszystkim – wyników badań i doświadczeń prowadzonych przez Centrum Naukowo-Badawcze Ochrony Przeciwpożarowej – Państwowy Instytut Badawczy we współpracy z innymi podmiotami. W niniejszym materiale zawarto najważniejsze zagadnienia dotyczące: rodzajów i charakterystyki elektrycznych napędów pojazdów samochodowych, stacji i punktów ładowania tych pojazdów, zagrożeń podczas zdarzeń z udziałem pojazdów z napędem elektrycznym, prowadzenia działań ratowniczych oraz zasad bezpiecznego postępowania ratowników. Podsumowanie zawiera również krótki opis literatury prezentującej wyniki badań naukowych oraz testów pożarowych pojazdów elektrycznych i baterii litowo-jonowych przeprowadzonych w różnych państwach, m.in. Austrii, Niemczech, Norwegii, Szwajcarii, Wielkiej Brytanii i Stanach Zjednoczonych, jak również opis badań prowadzonych przez CNBOP-PIB w tym zakresie.
