Psalm 15:1 LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill Psalm 15 is a call to check our heart and behavior and motives as we come before God with relation in mind. This Psalm educates the believer that desires a sincere intimate relationship with God. This is a relationship that goes beyond a weekly meeting and goes deeper into the all seeing presence of a Holy God. LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill This question demands a deeper questioning of ourselves before we respond with what we expect to be the obvious answer. It has simply been assumed by many that the holy hill is equivalent to the assembly of the saints or more likely, the church. Could it be there is a distinction to be found between the church and the place the psalmist is speaking of? Could it be that the psalmist is referring to another place many are yet to discover? The investigation of this verse might seem puzzling if we assume all believers automatically qualify to dwell on God's holy hill and abide in His tabernacle. As we examine the whole content of Psalms 15 it will become clear the real intent of this Psalm is to challenge us to draw a line in the proverbial sand in our lives. We are confronted to draw a line that will distinguish us as a people who not only claim to love God but a people who truly desire to know Him. Could it be that the psalmist raises the question because he did not find this to be the norm? Maybe at the time when this psalm was penned there was no recognized move among the people of God that would find them coming to and remaining in the presence of the Lord. This is a question that the Spirit of God confronts us with today.

Psalm 15 begins with two related questions: "LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill?" (v. 1). These are questions worthy of our consideration as Christian business professionals seeking to integrate our faith and our work. The psalmist answers the questions with the following description: "He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman, who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the LORD, who keeps his oath even when it hurts, who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken" (vv. 2-5, NIV). Using this psalm as a basis, Southwest Baptist University's College of Business and Computer Science is devoted to educating "Psalm 15 professionals," who exemplify traits including integrity, service, respect, charity, faithfulness, truthfulness, humility, and perseverance. The devotions in this small volume draw readers' attention to the need for believers to exemplify such character traits. Contributions from the SBU faculty and administration remind us of the necessity to approach life and work with a biblical worldview. The suffering and vindicated king The Psalter evinces meaningful arrangement. When psalms are read with attentiveness to their textual context, striking connections emerge. In The Arrival of the King: The Shape and Story of Psalms 15–24, Carissa Quinn approaches these psalms as a compositional unity. When read as a unit, Psalms 15–24 tell the story of God's kingdom, established through the suffering and deliverance of his Davidic king. Quinn interprets Psalms 15–24 as a sequence and a chiasm, revealing provocative links in adjacent and parallel psalms. These psalms have a sense of progress, beginning with the question of who may ascend the holy hill and culminating in the divine king's own ascent. They also display recursion, as themes in one psalm are developed in its chiastic parallel.
