Liberal Internationalism And The Decline Of The State written by P. Hammarlund and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005-03-01 with Political Science categories.
This book provides a critical analysis of the liberal ideas of the decline of the state through a historical comparison. It takes special note of the implications of state failure to control economic growth and market exigencies for international relations. The book is divided into three sections. The first analyzes Cobden, Mitrany, and Ohmae's empirical claims, the second looks at their normative judgements and the third looks at their predictive assertions. It concludes that the three primarily propose normative arguments for less state involvement in economic and international relations but conceal them in empirical and predictive assertions. The liberal idea of the decline of the state is more of an ideological statement in response to political, social, and economic trends than an objective observation of an empirically verifiable fact.

The purpose of this study, first published in 2004, is to investigate the possibility of establishing a regional inter-governmental human rights mechanism in East Asia, with a focus on the contributions of nongovernmental organizations' (NGOs) to such a development.

Being 'world class' is inextricably linked to being competitive. In this new book the author builds upon Becoming World Class and incorporates his experience of introducing fundamental changes in a number of major organisations. The author discusses how organisations can compete when competitors have also introduced the management innovations of recent years and become `lean'. He argues that success comes not from making business processes more efficient but from the contribution of people and he examines how companies can successfully motivate employees. This is an innovative book which puts forward a new approach for regional development in a global context. The author argues that the three elements of society, the firm and individual must work together to achieve economic growth in these competitive and changing times.

Globalization written by John Glenn and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-08-06 with Political Science categories.
Rather than claim that there exists a common concept of globalization that all parties can agree to, this book seeks to examine some of the conceptions and the way in which they render different interpretations of particular aspects of globalization. The last two decades have witnessed an explosive proliferation of academic writings on the subject of globalization, which has been accompanied by a high level of interest in the media and widespread usage of the term. This has inevitably resulted in the meaning of the concept broadening to include a whole host of issues, running the attendant risk of losing any conceptual focus it had. John Glenn examines five issue areas affected by globalization: the economy sovereignty civil society governance communication. In so doing, the book aims to articulate certain questions within each area, which will allow for some judgment to be made concerning the differing perspectives on globalization. Globalization will be of interest to students of international political economy and politics and international relations in general.

Geographies Of Economies written by Roger Lee and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-05-01 with Science categories.
Setting out to explore the intersections of economy and geography, this book brings together contributions from the world's top economic geographers. Over forty contributors draw upon contemporary theory and experience to explore the cultural and social constitution of economic geographies, processes of globalisation and new forms of political regulation and practice. Although focusing upon 'new' economic geography, the book also illustrates the many connections with previous scholarship as scholars seek to reconstruct the traditions of political economy to understand the contemporary world. Highlighting and illustrating contemporary developments, the book opens up discussion about the implications of the complex geographies involved. In pointing to new directions of research and debate, this major statement in state of the art economic geography demonstrates the central relevance of economic geography not only in understanding the trajectories of change but in proposing alternatives.
