Sono Brando, e vi "bracconto" il mio incontro con Roberto BERARDOCCO... Sono Brando, e vi "bracconto" cosa mi ha fatto stabilire il primo contatto con Roberto. Devo partire un po' da lontano. Ero un cucciolo felice e contento. Apparivo, come sono, intelligente e molti dicevano: "A questo cane manca solo la parola."Ma io la parola ce l'avevo e ce l'ho tutt'ora, anzi ora parlo di più e, a volte, meglio degli umani che mi si avvicinano. Quando parlo e non mi capiscono mi dico: "Perché il mio padrone non capisce quello che gli sto dicendo? Certo, parlo alla mia maniera, con movimenti e posizioni del corpo, delle orecchie e della coda, con tocchi e leccate indico i suoi desideri. Solo che voi, molto spesso, non riconoscete il suo linguaggio e non comprendete quello che voglio dire. All'età di 9 mesi, un bimbo mi ha preso un orecchio e con forza mi ha tirato e creato un grosso trauma: infatti ho un orecchio pendente e ce l'avrò a vita. Per il forte dolore ho reagito. Come può reagire un cane? ho morsicato...L'avessi mai fatto. Sono stato portato in un luogo, in una gabbia... messo lì in attesa che qualcuno decidesse per me. Voi pensate che non capissi dove ero? no io ero cosciente, ero nel braccio della morte, ad attendere l'eutanasia. In quei lunghi giorni di osservazione, molti mi venivano ad osservare e criticavano ad alta voce il mio gesto fatto per riflesso condizionato contro il bimbo.Un medico veterinario aveva deciso che ero recuperabile, quindi non mi dovevano abbattere ma dovevo subire un TSO, una specie di trattamento che gli umani usano per curare i tipi un po' "esagerati".Come dire che l'esagerato ero io che avevo subito la rottura dei legamenti dell'orecchio e non chi me lo aveva procurato. Però ero un cane e dovevo subire.Un giorno vidi un signore che mi guardava con amore, capii dal suo sguardo che soffriva e che capiva anche il mio dolore. Mi sembrava un angelo biondo che mi guardava con le lacrime agli occhi, non sapevo chi fosse, ma le sue visite diventarono giornaliere. In quei 60 giorni di TSO, non fui mai provocato, quindi fui, naturalmente, quello che sono un cane buono, non fui mai aggressivo.Dopo quel periodo di cure, fui liberato e affidato al mio angelo biondo che mi portò a casa sua dove vivo tutt'ora. Mi coccola, mi fa stare bene. Qalche volta mi dà dei baci ed io ho capito che lo fa per amore e non reagisco. Però cerco di fargli capire che per noi cani non è un segnale di affetto.Nell'abbraccio mi stringe una zona del corpo che per noi cani è ricca di significati comunicativi: il garrese ossia la parte delle spalle, dietro al collo.Questa zona nella comunicazione tra noi cani è la zona in cui poniamo il muso o le zampe. Si tratta quindi di un comportamento di "intimidazione" che usiamo per far capire all'altro cane che in quella situazione deve "cedere il passo".Ma dal mio amico Roberto accetto tutto. So che mi ama e che per lui sono quasi come una medicina che lo fa stare bene e non come quelle che gli davano quando era in ospedale.Il mio angelo è una persona importante. L'ho saputo ascoltando quando parla con altri e quando con i suoi amici racconta le sue peripezie di quando era un presidente di una società importante in Slovenia, un paese che non so dove si trovi.A volte vedo che anche lui ha delle paure: quando sente l'ululato dell'ambulanza lo vedo sudare freddo, solo le mie coccole riescono a rilassarlo; così pure quando vede una pattuglia dei carabinieri, gli aumentano le pulsazioni in maniera vertiginosa: eravamo a casa, hanno suonato, ha detto che era un vigile urbano per una notifica, siamo andati al cancello erano in tre, il presidente per la prima volta l'ho sentito balbettare... non era niente di pericoloso, solo un falso allarme per una notifica. Rientrato in casa si è buttato sul divano, mi sono dovuto impegnare per ore leccandolo parlandogli, anche se non mi capiva.
