A Quaresma de São Miguel Arcanjo é assim denominada porque acontece em um período de 40 dias. É uma oração que, atualmente, tem sido amplamente divulgada, especialmente através das mídias sociais católicas, reunindo jovens e adultos para rezá-la, em família ou em comunidade. A sua origem, porém, é bem mais antiga. Remonta aos tempos de São Francisco de Assis (1182-1226), que, considerando longo o período entre o Advento e a Quaresma, decidiu praticar um novo período de penitência e mortificações dedicado ao Arcanjo São Miguel, príncipe da milícia celeste. Mesmo não constando no calendário litúrgico da Igreja, essa prática tem se popularizado cada vez mais entre os católicos. Recomenda-se que seja rezada diariamente (menos aos domingos) entre os dias 15 de agosto – Solenidade da Assunção da Virgem Maria – e 29 de setembro, quando celebramos o Arcanjo Miguel, juntamente com outros dois arcanjos, Gabriel e Rafael. Entretanto, essa Quaresma pode ser rezada também em qualquer época do ano, por um período de 40 dias. Este pequeno livro, além de trazer a Quaresma propriamente dita, contém também o que as Sagradas Escrituras e o Catecismo da Igreja Católica dizem sobre os anjos, palavras do Papa Francisco, além de outras orações, salmos e músicas.

The word Liturgy comes from the Greek λειτουργία, which is translated as action of the people. It will be another way of finding the way to sanctification, because daily you will meditate on the word of God and he will carry out the prayers of the great saints of the Church, thus effecting the action of the people in the "work of God". Therefore, this Liturgy is the most efficient way of maintaining unity and communion among all the Catholic Scouts around the world, because as Saint Matthew says, because where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am in their midst.
