Louis-Vincent Thomas (1922-1994) a été professeur à la faculté des lettres et sciences humaines à l'Université de Dakar de 1958 à 1968 et professeur de sociologie et d'anthropologie à la Sorbonne jusqu'à sa retraite en 1988.
