Some people often use to say that in life we ​​have few privileges. However, most of them fail to measure the greatness of simple, or apparently simple, things like seeing, reading, feeding ourselves, being able to access health services, education, justice, freedom. That simple word contains what, in my opinion, is the greatest wealth we can possess. Freedom to move, think and express ourselves, love and choose who we love. Even destroy or destroy us. This book has made me think about the exercise of freedom, about the way in which the world acts and how we act in it, almost without awareness of what we do, about the way in which we are free to associate, relate and therefore, Freedom forces us (paradoxically) to exercise it within the limits of rationality and responsibility with ourselves and with the planet we inhabit. After all, we have nowhere else to go. What need do we have to establish boundaries, to separate ourselves more each day from the other? Have we ever stopped to think about what the world would be like if we were aware that we could be one, although diverse? This book, like almost never before, has brought me to that point. Dreams, the place of freedom par excellence, can come true if we fight for them with determination. World Citizenship is a possible dream. The articles - chapters that make up this book guide us towards the awakening of individual and collective conscience which, ultimately, is what is desirable, so that we can be citizens of the world, a phrase that has been heard or read many times, but not has been sufficiently well presented or considered. This is a happy exception. The social, economic, cultural, ethnic, and political aspects are addressed clearly, with a language and style that makes it easy to be read and understood. This is not intended to be a book of dogma, but rather a proposal to begin the path towards a better future, built by everyone, compiling the contributions of different visions but that focuses on the Human Being, in our home. Planet Earth. Great progress has already been seen in regional and even international, intercultural, political and economic agreements, which are good, but not so good in terms of the production, distribution, sale and purchase of weapons, substances that, in some parts, are members of the cultural acquis and in others they are considered illegal. These phenomena could well be explained from the perspective of Habermas, Bauman, and others, even at the risk of falling into simplism and/or deterministic reductionism. We are all one, respect for otherness is the key for freedom to be established and thus, the “Global Village” can overcome the crises in which it is immersed, many times due to failures in communication and absence of empathy; the pretension of wanting to impose ideas on others, to dominate through force and not with the force of reason. This is the origin of many unnecessary conflicts. This text is not about proposing a unified vision of Orwell and Huxley, but rather about understanding that we can be united in diversity, as the Baha'i principles clearly state, to cite a current of thought. It is in the communication where we have the best tool to forge a global society, where we can agree on the common goals of the survival and preservation of our habitat, with all that this implies. We have used it efficiently and we have succeeded. Or we have almost achieved it. The creation of blocs such as the European Community, Mercosur, the Arab League, and others, has made it possible to bring together communities similar in thought and interests and thus become stronger to negotiate, assert their rights and defend themselves against possible attacks. However, will it be possible that all groupings can ever be governed by a global control body? Any reader who approaches the text will soon find themselves reflecting on themselves and what they can contribute to improve from within and towards the environment, analyzing concepts such as Globalization and Worlding. It is like a ticket to the world of self- and collective consciousness, allowing you to finally answer whether global citizenship is a possible dream and, if you believe so, set yourself the task of making it a reality. This book does not pretend to be the last word on the issues raised, but it does show us a possible roadmap and, as a conscious reader, I feel obliged to reflect on what I have read, what I have learned, what I can put into practice to make the world a better place, if not already for me, for generations to come.

Para alinhavar essas primeiras linhas, tomo de empréstimo as palavras de Oliveira (2023)[1], as quais ajudam na percepção de uma nova ordem que precisa ser reescrita. Não uma ordem que nos algema, mas que nos instiga e nos veste da responsabilidade de nos assumirmos como construtores “vivos de vida”, de nós mesmos e do mundo. Em seu tecer, reporta-se ao poeta mítico de Nietzsche, Zaratustra, que “dizia haver chegado o tempo que o homem plantaria as sementes da sua mais alta esperança”. Plantar e cultivar essas sementes de esperança talvez nos reporte justamente a reescrever essa nossa nova condição, nossa no mundo, e do mundo em nós. Há de se fazer, no entanto, um alerta: pensar a cidadania sem reduzir essa condição a simplismos ou clichês não é uma tarefa fácil. Eis o desafio que o nobre colega Pedro Arturo se pôs a carregar. Assumiu uma jornada que é por vezes cansativa e, porque não dizer extenuante. Pensamentos também lhe chegarão, atormentando-o e aconselhando-o a desistir, ressaltando o quanto foi equivocada essa busca por um horizonte perdido. Mas que cidadão seria Pedro se não assumisse a responsabilidade de realizar a jornada, a fim de pensar caminhos outros em busca um mundo melhor, apesar das pedras no percurso? O que seria dele se não compreendesse que a jornada também traz a beleza da paisagem, sentindo o vento frio da tarde, assim como a possibilidade de colher frutos ao longo da estrada e escutar o canto dos pássaros? O que seria dele se deixasse morrer seus sonhos e fosse tomado pelo Nada, como se fora convencido pelo monstro Gmork, da história sem fim, que não haveria mais caminhos, senão juntar-se ao mal, sem mais nenhuma esperança (ENDE, 2001)[2]. Pensar a cidadania mundial, enquanto sonho possível é alimentar a esperança por um mundo melhor, mas não um mundo que natural e miraculosamente se fará dessa forma. O que se coloca em evidência é a produção de um mundo melhor no qual os indivíduos o constroem. Não uma produção linear, livre de intempéries, mas aquela em que as diferenças são também constituintes e, por isso mesmo, podem, dialogicamente, fazer emergir arranjos que permitam produzir os frutos que alimentarão nosso futuro e o dos outros que dividem essa existência terrena ou, por que não dizer, planetária, assim como enfatizou Morin (2007)[3]. Também é preciso germinar o solo, sem o qual nenhuma semente nascerá, nem muito menos flores, frutos e vidas novas. Analogicamente, não seria a busca pela cidadania mundial, também o que fez Zaratustra, ao descer da montanha e trazer a boa nova e, assim, a transformação do homem no super-homem? (NIETZSCHE, 2000)[4] Em suas “pregações”, o profeta Zaratustra percebeu a necessidade de companheiros para sua jornada, mas aqueles que desejassem seguir a si mesmo, como criadores de novos valores (NIETZSCHE, 2000). Pedro Arturo também compreendeu a importância de não fazer a jornada sozinho. Outros sujeitos, outros autores de si mesmos, no sentido dado por Ardoino (1998)[5], aceitaram dividir a marcha. Fransciso Vanderlei de Lima, Luis Antonio Gomes Lopes, Allívia Rouse Carregosa Rabbani, Roberto Muhájir Rahnemay Rabbani, Emilia Rahnemay Kohlman Rabbani, Giovanna Wanderley, Adriano Menino de Macêdo Júnior e Haixor de la Peña Cárcamo, livremente também assumiram, aos seus modos, o desafio. Junto a Pedro, não como um pastor e seu rebanho, mas com como indivíduos que buscam a constituição do jardim de vida que habitamos. Cada um com suas singularidades. Todos eles, não mais no alto da montanha, mas à altura dos homens, entoam seus cânticos “a quem quer tenha ouvidos para as coisas inauditas”[6] e enfrentam “o ruído dos cômicos e o zumbido das moscas venenosas”[7]. Nesse sentido, assumir a cidadania mundial é derrubar os muros que nos isolam uns dos outros. É assumir a condição humana que está presente em todos nós, apesar das diferenças. Essas, aliás não devem ser hierarquizadas, não se constituindo como vis justificativas para dominação do homem pelo homem. É preciso compreender, assim como destacou Morin (2007), tanto a condição humana no mundo, assim como a condição do mundo humano, o que só se faz onde vivemos, no nosso planeta, portanto a apreensão da identidade planetária é condição de aproximação da humanidade que somos e devemos ser. Como se vê, a odisseia porque passam os autores dessa obra é uma odisseia permeada de vida, na qual os saberes que os acompanham tornam-se condição imprescindível para produção dessa história, permitindo-a ser de uma forma e não de outra. Saberes que ao mesmo tempo criam o criador e permitem a criação de saberes outros. Não há a constituição do cidadão mundial sem se conseguir ler esse mundo, compreendendo-o, mas também reconhecendo as lacunas que não conseguimos eliminar. Tudo isso é formativo e fundante da realidade em que vivemos e construímos, assim como no - e do - constructo de nós mesmos. Os textos que aqui são apresentados trazem suas perspectivas de ver o mundo e a relação deste com a cidadania no mundo. Trazem olhares que permitirão a construção de saberes outros pelos sujeitos que tiverem acesso a essa produção. Nesses termos, essa obra traz, dentre outros aspectos, a possibilidade de ser semente para elaboração de outros saberes, como já dito, mas também e, inseparavelmente, para ser germem para o nascimento dos cidadãos mundiais que devemos ser.
