R is for Rosary, A Catholic Family Alphabet by Barbara Gowanhard cover first edition.Masterful use of prose and poetry are hallmarks of Barbara Gowan's books. R is for Rosary is no exception, but it is exceptional in its added dimension of faith and family. This Catholic alphabet book provides a beautiful means for children and parents to learn together about many aspects of the Catholic faith and tradition and opens a path to prayer and worship at home. Beginning with "A is for altar," Barbara Gowan skillfully and lovingly weaves vocabulary, facts, history, children's prayer and the tenets of our Catholic faith within a familiar format that inspires the reader to anticipate with excitement the twenty-five letters that follow. As an adult I found this book both educational and moving. For children it will easily become a favorite book of reference and prayer that they will treasure long after childhood. For Catholic families it is an invitation to learn and grow in their faith. Barbara Gowan gets better and better with every book, and with R is for Rosary her talent is enriched by her expression of faith and love. Dr. Sharon H. Pristash

Many times in reciting the Rosary, it is difficult to meditate on each Mystery during their recitation. These series of Meditations allows a person to meditate privately for about 15 minutes on one of the Mysteries. Also, a person can pick a Mystery to meditate on prior to reciting the entire Rosary. Our Lady of Fatima requested a 15 minute meditation after reciting the Rosary on the First Saturday of each month. This book can provide such a meditation. Congratulation and praise to Kenneth R. Wichorek for his outstanding devotional meditations on the Rosary. These meditations are the inspiring insights of a faithful Catholic layman contemplating and sharing with others, his love for the Virgin Mary and her Rosary. Fr, Anthony M. "Dear brothers and sisters! A prayer so easy and yet so rich truly deserves to be rediscovered by the Christian community." - Pope St. John Paul II During his papacy, Pope John Paul II ardently encouraged the faithful to return to the Rosary - his own favorite prayer. He demonstrated his love for it by praying all the mysteries every day, and by writing, speaking, and preaching about it. He knew from his personal experience of prayer that we come to know the person of Jesus Christ through Mary and the Rosary. With this book, you can pray the Rosary with the saint who loved it so much. For each mystery of the Rosary, you will find: The spiritual fruit that accompanies each mystery A short reflection on how Pope St. John Paul II embodied the spiritual fruit A Scripture passage for reflection An excerpt from a talk or writing of John Paul II Whether the Rosary is already your favorite prayer or you're just learning to pray it, Praying the Rosary with St. John Paul II will help you "rediscover the Rosary in the light of Scripture, in harmony with the Liturgy, and in the context of your daily lives." Using the eloquent and inspiring writings of holy men and women who share a love of, and commitment to, the Marian prayer, Editor Gretchen R. Crowe makes a compelling case for why praying the Rosary is more critical in today's 21st-century world than ever before. This is not a typical "how-to book" about the Rosary. This is the "why-to book" that will inspire you to reach for your Rosary more often, and in doing so to receive the gifts it offers to each of us and the world.

A Pocket Guide to the Rosary helps Catholics deepen their prayer life and improve their ability to pray what St. Padre Pio called the weapon of our times. The Rosary. Drawing from the writings of the saints, the Bible, and Catholic tradition, Matt Fradd has produced a book that every Catholic should read. Its small size makes it easy to carry to adoration, keep around for family Rosary night, or hand out at your parish. Catholics who find it difficult to enter into the mysteries of the Rosary, or who need some encouragement and inspiration to pray this essential Catholic prayer, will deeply appreciate this small but powerful book. In this essential book, Matt Fradd explains: ● How to truly meditate on the mysteries on the Rosary. ● Major saints methods to pray the Rosary. Carefully chosen biblical passages to reflect on for each mystery. Here's how it works: 1. Overview of each mystery, with biblical quotes to help you establish context and focus your mind 2. Insight on each mystery from the writings of the saints and Church Fathers 3. Personal applications for each mystery, so you can further apply these mysteries to your own life and invite God to be a part of it
