La poesía de Claribel Díaz es drama revestido de ideas, de sentires envueltos en dolores muchas veces sin respuestas y otras respondiendo desde la naturaleza femenina, sin andar buscando que se les comprenda a partir de que es una mujer quien la escribe. Estos poemas están en un constante evocar, desear, poseer a partir de lo reminiscente, de la memoria que no olvida nada, aunque haga amague. El poeta es su memoria y Claribel Díaz lo demuestra en cada poema, trabajando la palabra a partir del logo; es decir, la palabra conjuntamente con la experiencia de vida, que es el vivir mismo. A veinte y tantos años fuera de su lar nativo, no está desvinculada de la raíz más esencial que es la de ser mujer dominicana en su sentir más íntimo.
