The present publication constitutively expands the field of discourse on the topic of basic income and explores the possibilities of its introduction as well as the opportunities and risks. Although all visionary proposals for an unconditional basic income (BGE) have so far not been implemented politically, at least in democratically constituted welfare states, the question of implementation or the conditions for success and the identification of possible blockades have only been dealt with marginally. Recent publications on a BGE also show this political-institutional "blindness" and do not address enough the reasons for the failure so far. Without a transfer strategy, however, the idea will fail in Germany due to such implementation naivety. In this book, therefore, the state of the debate on basic income is developed further to the extent that it is integrated into welfare-state development processes and current challenges for the "safeguarding of social security". In addition, a social-scientific classification of hitherto visionary guarantee elements of a basic income model is undertaken, linking up with the "silent" change to a socially investing state.

The first annual FRIBIS conference in October 2021 aimed to take into account the growing economic interest in financial issues in basic income research. After all, research on Unconditional Basic Income is significantly influenced by this development of monetary policy issues and, in turn, contributes just as influentially to the discussion. Bernhard Neumärker is Professor of Economic Policy and Director of the Götz Werner Professorship for Economic Policy and New Ordoliberalism at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. In 2019, he founded the Freiburg Institute for Basic Income Studies (FRIBIS) for interfaculty and interdisciplinary research on Unconditional Basic Income in a network of six institutes of the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg. Jessica Schulz is a doctoral candidate at FRIBIS in educational science and, as part of the FRIBIS staff responsible for publication management.

Cette proposition, à la fois réflexive et esthétique, nous invite à prêter attention aux mouvements que les choses font lorsqu’elles se constituent et se dissipent, lorsqu’elles deviennent, insistent ou persistent dans le cours de l’expérience. Comment cultiver de nouvelles formes d’attention aux événements pour parvenir à prendre la mesure de cet entremêlement? Le philosophe Étienne Souriau nous apporte un premier élément de réponse : en pensant l’intensité. À ses côtés, cette étude se propose de penser l'aventure du geste d’intensification. Faire monde avec Souriau permet à tous ces êtres qui peuplent à la fois nos rêves, nos imaginaires et nos souvenirs de pouvoir prendre de l’importance au sein du récit en train de se dérouler. Le point étant que l’importance n’est pas immédiate, elle s’acquiert : elle s’instaure. Qu’il s’agisse d’instaurer un concept, un son ou bien une équation, on n’instaure jamais seul, on instaure toujours à partir de et avec une pluralité d’autres existences. Cheminer avec cet auteur nous entraîne alors sur la piste de nouvelles manières d’agir et de penser permettant de transformer ce qui nous touche en quelque chose de commun. À PROPOS DE L'AUTEURE Noëlie Plé est doctorante en philosophie, attachée au Phi à l'Université libre de Bruxelles ainsi qu'au laboratoire ALLPH@ de l’Université Toulouse Jean-Jaurès. Elle questionne les différentes manières avec lesquelles nous tissons nos relations aux multiples mondes que nous habitons.
