Lean kan bruges som effektiviseringsværktøj, Robust, som risikostyringsværktøj og Adræt, som omstillingsværktøj. De tre værktøjer kan anvendes samtidigt og i forskellige faser i forløbet gennem den radikale forandring. Lederen til nutiden skal være robust og adræt, være refleksiv og tænke i mangfoldighed. Hun skal forstå at skabe følgeskab og begejstring blandt medarbejderne. Udover at forfatterne bruger deres egne erfaringer som hhv. ledere og medarbejdere under radikale forandringer rummer bogen også interviews med fire markante topledere: Lars Munch fra JP/Politiken, Ingelise Boganson fra Alectia, Birgit W. Nørgaard indtil for nylig hos Carl Bro/Grontmij og Niels Højbjerg nu stadsdirektør i Århus tidligere leder af Fyns amt. Deres gennemgående citater giver ledelsesrefleksionerne i bogen kød og blod.

One of the most important routes to employment within the social welfare sector worldwide is higher education, which equips students not only with the knowledge for employment, but with the tools to use and build on this knowledge. Industrialised societies have changed enormously since World War II. Business enterprises have laid the foundation for this process as well as adapted to a world where industrialisation and internationalisation have spread rapidly.
